I chose the classic over this, has been on offer a few times for. Quite a bit more but looks better for the office, still with all the sport features
Very tempted but already bought an Eco Drive a few weeks back for 70 quid. That's at least two watches I might not wear LoL.

BTW - Heat

Had this thing for a day. What a waste of money! Android Pay worked when it wanted, menu navigation is awkward, battery was depleting at huge rate. Pointless!

What the jolly dickens is the oreo list?

This week Google released a list of smart watches that are in the process of being updated to the latest Android version, Oreo, and a list of those pursuing the upgrade. The 'pursuing' list is generally accepted as being the not likely to get it list though you may be lucky.

As I understand it, the Watch 2 release was badly timed as it was designed as a Wear 2 watch but came out just as Wear 3 was released so it got the update but is missing the rotating bezel that Wear 3 watches were designed to have. However, it's price/spec made it one of the best ones out there but maybe like the recent price cuts were indicative of what was, or more correctly wasn't, coming. That last bit is pure speculation on my part but very coincidental if not the case.

Samsung is a wodge more cash and doesn't run Android but has a bigger screen and rotating bezel. You'd be surprised how much nicer the experience is without having the paw at the screen all the time, I'm amazed Apple haven't jumped in their time machine and patented it!

With either one you pick, it'll probably only be good for a couple of years.
I got one for £189 from Argos on Black Friday. I've not opened the box yet so think I'll return and order this instead! Thanks OP.
Prefer the look of the s3 frontier , however I get 15% off through work so that really makes it cheap

Decisions
You can't get the Samsung for less than £299 now so it'll be down to how much you want to pay
Ok here is my take...

Pay with hsbc card and get another 5% and why not try quidco as well no codes used so cannot see why no cashback will be paid.

Samsung s3 or this. I will have to admit a bit underwhelmed with Huawei picked on Monday.

However have reservations on Tizen powered s3. Updates are subject to Samsung, Samsung he will never be at Par with Google pay.

All my last smart watches lasted only 2 years so why spend high when this will do the job right now

All the lists say Huawei 2 is getting Oreo? Will that not be both the classic and sport?

You have excellent discipline to have lasted this long without getting itchy fingers and opening the box!
Tiptop find and wonderfully found at this price

I was waiting for the Argos 30 days to pass just in case it went cheaper!

The Samsung is a better looker, but a lot bigger and heavier.

The Huawei is over £100 cheaper.

Recent updates, have made the battery last just over 2 days now-at start, was lucky to get 1 day.

Lots more apps avail for Huawei, as it runs Android Wear 2 compared to Samsungs own.

I struggled with the same decision for some time and eventually settled on the Gear S3. The battery life and build quality won me over. Roll on Christmas day.

I love the Gear S3 Frontier, think it's beautiful, but the OS put me off, I'd rather have Android 2.0

Cheers Sleepy Chris, you posted what I was going to in answer to the Oreo question 🏻

I was waiting for the Argos 30 days to pass just in case it went cheaper!

Then you have double excellent discipline!
I should learn that strategy too.
Have ordered. Got a Zeek £5 off code today so used that to purchase £150 off H Samuel vouchers for £137. Means it’s only cost me £146.

Thanks OP

Sack it, I went for it. I figure knowing me, I'll probs be bored of the novelty of a smartwatch within a couple of weeks so if I've only wasted £150, it's better than £300.
Back up to £199 now.
OOS and only 10% discount now instead of 20%. Could combine with 10% off email sub code or up to 10% Topcashback (more likely 2%).
I've decided to wait for now... I'm going to wait till after Christmas. There doesn't seem to be one watch without some issues. Samsung has Tizen and is very big and heavy. This is perhaps not as easy to use. I'm coming from a pebble so I guess either are a massive upgrade!

Mine's been working fine. Battery lasts 2 days easily. Android pay has worked every single time I've used it. You must be doing something wrong
woooderrr14 h, 14 m ago

same dilemma I'm having

I went with this as there are more apps on android wear compared to Samsung's tizen. My bank only currently supports android pay and not Samsung pay so wouldn't be able to use that feature. Also this costs less

This chap gave it a real run for it's money before he left his thorough review.
I have owned it for a few weeks now....great watch!!
Battery life is 2 days if just using it for notifications and answering the odd call.
Use fitness functions and that can hit the battery a bit but that is to be expected.
I am a watch fan in general and went for the Huawei as I find it sits better on the wrist than the Gear S3
which is just a bit too big and heavy for my liking...although an excellent watch in it's own right.
Out of Stock!!!

you're right, i shouldnt have been so sceptical after a day of use, but i just don't feel that this device is worth its money. If you are into smartwatches then by all means this may be good for you. battery depletes quickly, was a bit disappointed with AP, overall UI experience wasn't too good either.

I've got miband 2, which I know is different league, but I charge it once every two weeks - wish battery life on watches will be similar if not better one day!
