As a watch, this is really nice, the Mi Band is probably better featured though.

Also depends on what phone you have, and how you feel about using the Huawei App Gallery, if you don't have an iPhone or Huawei handset.
Love mine. Great battery life - charged mine a week ago and have tracked 5.5 hours of exercise including GPS and still has 44% charge remaining.

Thousands of free custom watch faces available if you can stand the hassle of registering a Chinese account and ideally have a spare Android phone to run a beta version of the Health app.
I had a Huawei but the screen broke so I got the Xiaomi pro 8 note... I'm looking a Gps and music watch so I don't have to carry my phone
Great watch, but be careful if in new Android phone as mine stopped pairing to phone once I got a Galaxy S20 Watch remains great but can't now add new faces or see other Health features
How well does this handle notifications? Will it do Whatsapp and emails? Syncs to Google fit OK?

There's so many Android smartwatches its hard to know where to spend the smart money. GearOS, Tizen, Huawei's OS.

Works with all notifications you mentioned, plus calls, on Android and iOS.

MrSwitch, my pro also doesn't connect to my new Bluetooth speakers :(:(. So I guess I will send the 9s and pro back... Now I need a big screen phone replacement - I don't really want a phone smaller than the note 9 size screen, for 200 ish... What can I get...
Is this an android watch switchy

:). What if I use one of those devices which turn a non Bluetooth device with a 3.5mm jack into a new Bluetooth signal..? Would that be an option?
This or the honor magic?

I have the Honor Magic, I really like it, had an amazfit bip before and a pebble before that. The magic doesn't quite hit the highs of the pebble tbh. I get a full week between charging (which only takes 2 hours anyway)

Is it a phone or speakers issue, i.e. can your phone connect to other BT devices like headphones?

Hi. I believe it is phone. The speakers are new, £200, and all my previous phones pick it up fine. My phone connects to laptop fine. They just won't connect to eachother. I believe it's a Xiaomi thing...

Strange.
The 3.5mm dongle is cheap. Good option.

Yep. Cheers. Thanks for your time. Do you know if there is any negative with those devices? Sound wise? They're around £15??

I guess your BT speakers have built in amplifier?

Yeah, I think they're active. Bookshelf. 40w. One power cable to one and then speaker cable from one to the other.
41071946-aSoqH.jpgLots of inputs. I think they are 4.0 Bluetooth. Why do you ask?

Bob's your f-ing uncle! Bob's your f-ing uncle. You bloomin press the pair button once you press the Bluetooth button. Then they flash fast!! And now the phone picks it up.

I use the FiiO BT dongle.
Damn, Huawei app doesn't link to Strava, shame.

Prefer a square face so waiting for Amazfit GTS to drop to around this price.

Great price though.

All notifications are fine but No emoji support. Google fit sync has problems, only seems to track sleep from midnight and doesn't track heart rate although step tracking seems fine
This or the amazfit gtr?

I don't have a Huawei phone, I've got a OnePlus 7t pro. So I don't know how the Huawei app will work with my phone.

Works fine on my android phone
If you have a non-Huawei/Honor phone running Android 10 or newer, you need to get the Huawei Mobile Services app from either the Huawei App Gallery (which you'd also need to install) or from another apk download site. In most cases that will mean changing the security settings on your handset.

iPhones apparently just need the app, and don't have the same type of requirements beyond the main Huawei Health app.

Disclaimer from me - I had one of these for a week. Really liked it, but then my Mi 8 updated to Android 10, and broke the health app. I returned it and got a Mi Band 4 instead. But I would really have liked to keep the Huawei, but wasn't happy to change those security settings.
