Don't have GPS on so the watch lasts longer. It is nice to look at and a few people have complimented me on it. Not done much running since I got it though.

All step counters are off.

My fitbit and phone both registered me walking when i was sitting in doors watching a film, and no my wrist wasnt moving franticaly during the film
Great price but this is actually pretty rubbish. I have one. Basically Huawei bought out a new one or two new ones and need to flog these on. Knew they weren't going to get full price so added them as free gifts with some contract deals and now reduced them. Can't reply to messages. Can see some but not all. Can't use it for maps. It's basically a compass, stopwatch, torch, alarm. It's really not worth 99£ in my opinion.

Yeah at least it is a colour that goes with most things.

Great little addition to the P30 Pro I managed to snag today
Very good price, but I want the 2nd gen that can play MP3s over Bluetooth.
Will this sync with strava?
Hmmm, apparently the watch is good but the app is rubbish. Want a smartwatch though for my new P30
10% tcb on amazon watches too.

Thinking of getting rid of my 2nd gen. Had the S3 frontier as my 1st smartwatch, bit too chunky and not keen on tizen operating system although the rotating bezel was a great feature. My 2nd gen just seems a bit fiddly. Maybe my eyes aren't as good as they used, sometimes click on wrong thing, that's where the rotating bezel is handy.

Not officially, there were workarounds to extract the data from the app but they've blocked that with an update, but to be honest the GPS tracking isn't accurate enough anyway, especially if you're into Strava, segments etc. It tends to smooth out any corners of your route so the total distance is way less than it should be. I can't complain too much as it was a free watch though...

Good watch with a great battery life if not doing any heart rate monitoring. Wouldn't call it a smartwatch though. Can't send messages/answer calls (and talk on the watch) or make payments. Purely just read. It's smarter than your analogue watch but doesn't sound catchy and isn't in the same category as actual smartwatches such as the Galaxy watch.

Since my Watch GT on eBay for 75 and got a Galaxy Watch. Not too convinced with it as yet though in fairness.

I've toyed with a smart watch. Even tried a couple but both went back. Every deal i look at there seems to be poor reviews. Is the Galaxy watch the only one actually worth considering? I have a Huawei Mate 20 pro. So I feel i should go for one of their watches? or would i be fine getting a Samsung smart watch? I'm at that stage of life (oldish) where the Mrs says what do you want for Christmas? & i reply nothing i need. So i think maybe I should try another smart watch? But tbh I love my Citizen Eco Drive, no battery to worry about for years, it's `smart' but not in the tech way! Appreciate any advice? Thanks in advance.

I've been thinking about the galaxy watch too. But they're insanely priced. As much as I hate to admit it, apple have the market here with their Apple Watch. It does everything you would want a smart watch to do. I just don't think Android has that ability yet. They kind of don't own that market. I am android all the way and highly dislike apple BUT I have to admit they have this one and have it well
I have this watch and here are my thoughts on it

Battery life is very good. I get about 10 days off it with heart rate on
Notifications are very odd. It doesn't know how to wrap text on the screen so splits words
You can't download any more watch faces
It took me an absolute age to pair it with my Pixel, so much so I had to pair it to a Samsung first, do all the updates, then it would work with my Pixel

It's a niche watch. What I mean by that is, if you want something relatively stylish, that can show you notifications and has great battery life, then this is perfect. If not, don't get it.

The Samsung comes up number 1 on Techradar. Apple number 2. And the samsung can be had for £179 on Amazon 42mm, or £199 46mm, that's not too bad? or is this older version and there's a newer version around? The Techradar links to the Amazon page at those prices.

Yeah I have seen that before actually. So yes it's rated better but it really isn't. Doesn't have functionality like apple watch. No nfc pay. It runs Samsungs own wearable os. Doesn't work that well or at all with Google wearable. You can have Spotify on it which works great. No proper map functionality which is great. It has Samsungs new voice option but it's new and isn't the best. It's a good smartwatch. Not great but ok.
Heat! Shame it isn't the silver one with the brown strap, still £129 keeping my eye on it.

I've worn mine every day from launch and it's hard wearing for a smart watch, hasn't picked up any scratches on the screen or bezel.

You're wrong about the watch faces they are available, I have over one hundred, you just need to look into how it's done

I had the gear before this and that certainly had nfc (Samsung) pay...
Call me crazy but I don't really see the point in having a watch. Unless you can't check your phone at work
This or the Garmin Forerunner 45? In terms of accurate data for running like GPS and linking with Strava?

Yeah I think the other poster wants to believe the Apple is better when it isn't. The gear are better in almost every way, but you do need a Samsung phone to do everything (including i think NFC payments), so no different to some then in that regard?

It does have Samsung Pay (NFC). I have my Curve card set up to it

Under the wearables OS, samsung pay resides in this.

Never used it, mind you.

Yeh, I'd prefer the Google assistant and maps, but tbh I'd never really use it as I just use in on my phone. But theyre onto something with the bezel selector, when I did have one, that was early my favourite part instead of trying to click tiny areas of the screen, and I don't really have big hands

I have Samsung Pay my galaxy watch. Paired up with my nationwide debit. Paid for my large Latte today with it

I use it with my pixel 3. get all notofications, ebay, whats app ect. can message, call can change the faces. Looks smart with my Rolex Air King face on it.

I like the style of this watch and have been looking to try it on but can't find any shops on the high street that stock it apart from Argos where I wouldn't be able to try it on. Was umming and arring this morning about whether to buy it given the mixed reviews but finally decided to order one. Thanks OP for posting.

Reading around I would say Forerunner 45 (currently £139 on John Lewis). Apparently you cannot export the gtx data out of the Huawei Health app. I've still ordered one of these though because I like the look of it and I basically couldn't wait to see what other offers come up in the next 7 days!

lol another good point as to why do i need one? Lets be honest, none of us do really? Maybe for the fitness side of things. But aren't there better options for that type of thing? Is it just because they exist that we need one? I wish i could find something else that I need for Christmas. Life was so much easier in the 80s! lol
Wish there was one smartwatch in this price region that did everything well.

Garmin Vivoactive - near perfect fitness tracking, but plasticy cheap housing and low res display and meh smartwatch features

Anything WearOS - great smartwatch features, great display... but massively basic fitness tracking through Google which purports to sync with Myfitnesspal etc but never does

Huawei - excellent fitness tracking but choice of either an *ancient* WearOS watch or this thing with LiteOS and almost no smartwatch features

That's the issue I guess. If it done all of the above well it'd likely be north of this price point.

Same thoughts mate.

My citizen eco-drive is now 11 years old and never missed a beat.

Use it in the pool and sauna and still fine.

I think the only thing that would tempt me for a smart watch would be one with a reliable heat rate monitor and ecg as I have some heart issues
Excellent watch. 🔥
Wow, it looks good, I think I can try to buy one
