In fact most Chinese brand phones worry me due to the Huawei/US issue. Potentially this watch could be obsolete and redundant overnight.....even for a device not affected by the US trade ban, the rate of obsolescence for phones and smart watches is quite high. Couple that with a Chinese brand esp Huawei then that rate doubles

Nothing to worry about. I've got a huawei laptop and the GT2 both are quality products 👌
There's so many different variations of the same watch you don't know which one to choose!
Had my GT2 for 5 weeks now and I have only charged it 3 times, use it for calls, GPS Walk and run tracking regularly.

I have the brown strap / silver face version that also comes with a black rubber strap so I switch it up daily depending on the attire.

My only nit-picks are no contactless payment and limited watch faces but on the whole it is amazing, the battery life alone is one of the main reasons I chose it, and the fact it looks like a classic style watch.

It’s my first smart watch I really do love it!

I can't make my mind up between this 42mm sports version or the 46mm bigger brother.

I'll be using it for sports activities so the smaller version is more appealing, however the longer battery life of the 46mm is a big plus.

Is there really much difference in battery longevity between the 42mm and the 46mm?

Can anyone mention other reasons why one is better over the other?

The 46mm has a mic and speaker built in so you can answer and make calls, plus listen to music through the speaker.

Go for the bigger for the battery life. The 46mm isn't really that big a watch tbh. I find big watches annoying but this 46mm ticks the boxes for me size wise.
Are these the same as the Samsung watches?

which one has the bigest battery life?
Making or answering calls through the watch isn't something I'd do, and neither is playing music through the watch's speaker.

The longer battery capacity is important.
Has anybody paired an Android smartwatch with an iPhone and found it useful? I'm happy with my Apple Watch but I prefer the traditional watch appearance found on most Android smart watches. Just need to be able to control music and see notifications really.

Just FYI the GT2 is not currently not compatible with Strava - until this is resolved that is a deal breaker for me

2 weeks for the 46mm as per the comparison chart posted further down the thread. Battery life is insane.

Correction: further up the thread ^ after posting lol

The GT active has 2 weeks battery if you're not worried about calls/speaker/music on the phone. I'm hoping the GT 2 46mm drops as I want to be able to listen to music off of the watch.

Just found that the 42mm has storage for music too....

Been looking for a nice metal link smart watch that is a decent price. Anyone have any suggestions?
Does anyone know if this version of GT2 (I assume that this is international version) has SpO2 (Oxygen saturation) detection?

can you use MFP and have strava take the feed from that?
I was looking for a nice, classish strap for my watch so I could use it for everyday

The lack of Google Pay is the deal breaker for me, otherwise I would definitely buy

No NFC for Google Pay, which is what prevented me from buying one.

Same. I ended up buying the Fossil Sport for £85 + 15% discount if it's your first time shopping on their site.

Been looking at the Fossil Gen 4 & 5 watches, how do you find the Sport? I'm more interested in notifications and Google Pay than the fitness/sleep tracking aspect

I only ordered it a few days ago, should arrive tomorrow. It's not got brilliant reviews, but most is based on battery, which might be improved with a new update and I don't use GPS and Always On Display a lot, and there's a fix for any lagging.

Once it arrives tomorrow I'll reply back.
Does anyone know if you can get whatsapp notifications on this?
I love my Sunset Orange GT 2 (£150 from Amazon on BF). It's a great GPS tracker, with just the right number of smart watch features for me. I might use NFC if it ever becomes available (the hardware is there apparently), but otherwise, notifications, calls and music are the only thing I would want in a watch anyway.

I got 12 days out of my battery last time out, with continuous heart rate monitoring, notifications, sleep tracking and several hours of GPS tracking. Not going to argue with that.
With notifications you select which apps you want them from. Essentially anything that can appear as notifications on the status bar of your phone can be selected (including WhatsApp).

I have the 46mm GT2 - fab watch.

Charging takes 1 hour and then lasts the full 2 weeks.

No SpO2 monitoring I have seen but it may come with an update I understand.

Doesn't seem overly big on my wrist and looks fantastic with the £15 'Fintie' black metal straps available on Amazon.

What it does it does well but obviously the feature set is limited so choose carefully.

UK & US governments will have been spying on us all for decades already so why worry about the chinese also having a wee peek into our habits too

got the honor magicwatch2 46mm myself, have had it for almost a week now ( its the GT2's cheaper cousin, well was when i bought it but the GT2 may be cheaper now lol - honor is owned by huawei ) got heartrate tracking on constant, sleep tracking on too, notifications from the main messenger apps etc - notifications selectable in the app like mentioned above, you can toggle on / off what apps you want to be passed through ( they seem to hit the watch before buzzin on the phone too ) used it a handful of times to track a few walks & bike rides ( with GPS tracking via the phone ) & it seems to do everything i wanted of it

charged up to full last night & put back on around 11pm, currently on 94% battery so at that rate i should be good for a good 10 days at least, maybe a touch more, so not as good as the 8 years i got out of my last watch battery but for the heartrate & sleep tracking its a great battery life really, ( think i only got 4-5 days out of my last fitbit watch & that begger did not have a big ass LED screen & did not pass through notifications & such ) especially when pitted against other similar watches that advertise 4 day life but often barely last 1 day when you actually use the ruddy things as intended ( ie to track activities & such lol )
Thanks for posting, we have added this to the Highlights pages
Is it possible to download Spotify songs onto this or is music playable from the in built music app only, when away from a handset? Can't find a definitive answer online.
If this was a deal for the 46 I'd have definitely gone for it

Yes you can. With all notifications you can read but can't reply. You choose which apps to enable notifications for through the Health app. I just have SMS and WhatsApp enabled which works well for me.

Yes but read only. No reply.
I got the pebble dash GT2 watch just before Xmas. It looks great and the interchangeable straps are great dependant on occasion. I use mine for pool swimming but its nice to see messages (read only) and answer calls via the phone. Some nice little features throughout.

If you're looking for a smart watch, keep looking. It has some capability but its main skill is the sports tracking.

Battery last 2 weeks and that's with constant heart rate monitoring... Amazing - and the charge only takes about 60mins.

I'm really impressed with it overall. Would still buy again.
