Just placed an order, cheers Mr Switch
Due April 1st I guess it should be an improvement on my (slowly dying) Moto g 1st edition. I'm told I could have got an iD upgrade to a Samsung Galaxy A10 (I'm on sim only @ £3.99 1GB, 500 minutes & unlimited text) but it would of meant my taking a hit of 250 minutes pm AND paying 8.99pm (over 24 months) from £3.99, so I opted to buy this (Huawei Y5) and possibly get a (£24.99) freebee...not that I got a clue (yet) what it does. Oh well, fingers crossed...fer a number of reasons.

Keep you fit, good choice if you're a low user, which you seem to be, no point having a massively powerful phone if you aren't going to use all the features

My thoughts exactly.
The 1 thing I'm not happy about with this deal, is the delay in receiving the free Huawei Band 4E.

I purchased the phone as it'll do all I need, and now that I have it? I like it, yet the tipping point...the deal maker (for me) was/is the FREE Band 4E, but I'm NOW as good as being told by Carphone Warehouse it's subject to availability, and to WAIT n SEE....fer 14 ter 28 days, where as we only have 14 days to return

AND to top it all off, if I return it?, because of the virus, I'll have to pay the return costs.

CS (n general) has gone down the pan.
Many companies have discontinued phone CS, so getting things sorted just got a WHOLE lot worse. Oh well, time will tell.

Keep us updated, I can't imagine the deal has been that popular, and they are still advertising the watch on sit (not that that tells you much)

Oh will do fer sure

You know, I would have thought the "system" would have deleted a Band 4E from stock, every time an applicable phone was purchased. It's a bit like the GO OUTDOORS deal a while back. We order the shoe size we want, but they took SO long to PICK the order, the required size would often be "out of stock", where as had the SYSTEM simply made the stock adjustment at the MOMENT of sale?.

3 weeks after the order was placed, and still no show of the free Huawei Band 4E.

I'm TOLD (by Carphone Warehouse Online chat today) that the freebee tracker comes direct FROM Huawei, so (in theory) availability shouldn't be a problem, but let's see what the next seven days brings.

JUST got off the phone with HUAWEI CS (yes, the phone) firstly 0800 088 6700 where it was answered by a PERSON. SHE had to give me another number of 0345 216 0131, and another lovely voice. BUT the bottom line...

Huawei do not have a promotion that involves the supply of a Huawei Band 4E, and sent me an email to confirm it, Cut n pasted, and a bit chopped out to deter FAN mail

Yes indeedee, shame it won't be on the phone BUT the beauty of Online chat is that you get to print off a transcript, so no "I didn't say that" issues, as could/would be the case over the phone?
RE FACEBOOK & CPW

Can anybody say if a company CPW, EBAY etc get to VIEW any comment you "post" (B4 it's actually posted) then (if it isn't happy with the comment) DELETE IT?.

I've just asked CPW who should supply the free Band 4E I/we were offered, with the purchase of certain phones ...CPW or HUAWEI, and when I hit "send"? a message flashed up on the screen so fast I couldn't read it all, and it was only short BUT I believe it was saying that (in this case) CPW would get to read the post FIRST, then (I guess) if it doesn't like it, what? DELETE IT? Have CPW blocked me? if so, can anybody else ask the following question of CPW, on FB...

"Who is expected to supply the FREE Band 4E Tracker, you CPW, or HUAWEI"

The plan being to get a reply B4 posting the email I received FROM Huawei, telling em WELL, IT AIN'T HUAWEI.

And I may have done.

I was told by Caylem (Online chat CPW CS) today, that it IS CPW who will supply the tracker, the key point being the 14-28 day wait. Funny thing is, that many companies have removed phone CS
and in the case of CPW, possibly BLOCKED some customers from posting on FB?

but not Huawei, no. Huawei still have human CS, so credit where it's due methinks. That said, it is in my/our favour (in this case) that we have to "chat" with CPW online, as it enables me/us to print off a transcript.

Hi all
So, the free Band 4e eh?.

"WHILE STOCKS LAST"
Remember that term? I thought it wouldn't be a problem, after all CPW were still showing it as "in stock" and it is...still on sale, yet today I finally got a CPW CS agent tell me (online chat) that While stocks last = how many Band 4e units CPW ALLOCATED to the deal, and when the ALLOCATED units had been sold, they were (for the purposes of the deal) OOS Christ is that even legal?
Well, I may have mentioned getting some legal advice, and suggested I believe I'd been mis sold the Huawei y5 2019 phone last month...yes, I was hacked off, so much so I ALMOST missed the mention of aVOUCHER...the £20 voucher the CS operative had just applied to my account.

SO, I try to access my CPW Account to get the voucher code BUT I can't see a way to "login" (because CPW don't operate that way) so HOW do I get the code? well, I had to play CPW PING PONG Online between CS & SALES, ending with CS telling me I had to contact SALES...on the PHONE so while I got CS on the computer (online chat) I'm also on the PHONE to SALES (on hold) fer 20 minutes, B4 being answered.

END RESULT
She (sales) was able to access the voucher after the usual security checks.
I used the voucher against the better Huawei Band 4, and coughed up the extra £4.99, with delivery due TOMORROW via DPD but CPW? never, I say NEVER again.
