I don't think anyone has hands'on experience on this, as it is released only few days back, however check review here -> cnet.com/uk/…50/

o2 is selling this for £99.99, so don't know if this mis price by CPW.

Lower screen resolution than the Moto G and only 4GB storage vs 8GB.
But faster cpu, better benchmarks and cheaper.
missleading

Apart from the screen, that makes a big difference. the Moto G screen easily bests the one on this and for that reason I'd go Moto G
i would take the moto g over this.

however compared to the moto e, this is a very good deal
One of the best top few makers, bargain @ spec.
Cheers OP, been looking to upgrade for a while. £50 for this has made me pull the trigger.
HOT ..Looks great specs for the phone. I'll stick with my Moto G. But if I had to buy again I'd get it.
Just that damnable 4gb - thats the deal destroyer in every way
I have a Moto E and put a 32gb sd into it, and it STILL overflowed too quick, despite cleaning regularly and putting everything I could onto SD card. Too restrictive, the 4gb. Ridiculously so
Anybody know any credible unlock options, or is it too close to initial release? Thanks.
Edit: or are CPW handsets supplied unlocked?

unlocked
If my old T-Mobile SIM would let me upgrade I'd have snapped one of these up. The only weak point is that 4GB of storage, but a bargain for £50 (if you can get it).
Looks comparable to how to y300 was when it came out. That was pretty unbeatable in terms of spec for money at the time. It's got a lot going for it over the newest Moto G in my opinion (how can a new phone not be 4G?). It's quite tempting, but I know it will probably be quite cheap feeling.

Anyone know whether you generally get phones fixed to whichever network you upgrade on?

Nice one Raj
Nice find, alot of phone for the price, nice backup/spare phone. Heat
4gb of internal storage, half of that will be used by android os, ok if you don't install apps and games or it will soon run out of space.
Gave it Heat Got mum a Blade L2 refurb for £55 recently as an upgrade to her ailing Huawei G300 (which is on a par with the HTC Desire)...4GB internal memory won't really be an issue for mum as she isn't really big on apps. I'd have went for this deal otherwise.
Good price for what it is - and it competes pretty much with the Moto E.

However, personally I have given Huawei a chance before, and they blew it. No support, no upgrades, and the hardware turned out to be substandard. So I will stay clear of Huawei in the future. Motorola seems to be the way to go, although I am quite annoyed by the number of battery drain bugs they still have not fixed.

6 or 12 months depending on your network. Nothing spotting you using a friend or family members number for the upgrade though as its just used to check if its a valid update nothing else.

Your forgetting the Moto G gets the latest Android updates and the screen difference is quick large (massive compared to the gpu/cpu difference).

For the money its a damn good phone and its about time (only took a year) something beat the Moto G in terms of bang for buck.
Not a worthwhile upgrade from a Moto G, but anyone looking for a good Android phone its probably a better choice given the price difference.

My Ma and GF are both rocking Y300s. Ma is a light to moderate user, not too many apps and on stock and is more than happy on JB 4.1.1. GF was nagging in my ear about slowness and lack of space so I put SlimKat 4.4.4 on it, which is updated weekly, and it got a massive new lease of life. If the same support is offered to this on Modaco it could be a steal, especially if they manage to port Android L to it...

Hell even 8GB is too stingy. I'm still patiently waiting for a 16GB 4G Moto G.
PAYG upgrade? How will they know? I'm at the payment details screen and they haven't once asked me for an eligible phone number or anything like that.

Could you post me a link to SlimKat please? I haven't heard of that before and most the 4 older members of my family are all using y300s. They have been very good for the money, but one of the 4 is running grindlingly slow now.

Unfortunately none of my SIM cards are eligible for upgrade. Does anyone know what the requirements for upgrade are? I think I should start to try keeping a few more SIMs active, so I can do upgrade when deals like this come out.

I'm trying to be patient for a new Moto G, but it's hard when one has just come out and it's spec was a bit rubbish. Is there any timescale on a new Moto G yet?
One of my quad phones is 1G/4G like this. If you use a good mover app & move the bigger movable apps to sd & don't have games with huge data folders, then this spec will be fine for over ninety percent of such heavy app user cases. Of course most just install & install till it drops. On that phone I have over 600 apps many being heavy or development or productivity apps and no problems..

This phone is from a quality maker and suits most ppl and a good Backup phone for techie ppl.

Those wanting cuttiNg edge New phones to install huge amounts of apps and not being techie, do not need to spend over £400 as often listed on this site regularly, get a better phone spec, octa ( 8 ) core, Full-HD display, 3G/32G memory from a good maker (not as good as Apple/LG/ oppo but close behind) in two weeks time on pre-sale now from orient for about £250-280 delivered fast and probably nearer two hundred near Xmas:
