If you buy three hue colour bulbs, there are two deals you can stack at maplins.

3 for 2 on hue bulbs
Spend over £100 and get £10 knocked off the total.

I bought 3 hue bulbs and a standard bulb to get over the £100 threshold.

I paid £92.98 in total. Which is approx £30 a hue bulb plus a standard bulb.

You might be able to find something cheaper to tip over the £100 total, you only need an item that is 2p.

Title should say approx £31 each , but have given heat anyway

Anyone had their 10 quid voucher from the last maplin deal??

Can I ask, whats the benefit of having wifi bulbs, other than I can turn them on and off (dim/change colour too) with my phone?

Think you've just about explained it

Depends if you like to have internet enabled devices and like to dabble with IFTTT.

I guess it’s not for everyone, but this is the best price I’ve found them.

These aren't Wifi, they're Zigbee.

The benefits are numerous especially if you use IFTTT. You're only really limited by what you can think of using them for.

You can set lights to blink when you receive an important email, or have a light change colour to warn about a change in temperature (blue for lower than 2c or red for warmer than 20c), you can set schedules for when lights turn on/off or even have it geofenced so they automatically turn on when you arrive home. You can have them imitate a sunrise (helping you wake up on these dark autumn/winter mornings). You can use an app on your phone to pulse and change colour with music.

There's alo the benefit of having different colours as mood lighting. I have a group in my Alexa settings called Accent lighting. So 3 LightStrips, 2 Lamps in the living room, an Iris Lamp in the hallway and a Hue Go (usually in the study/games room) can all be turned on by asking Alexa.

I wasn't 100% convinced by them at first but got a bridge and 2 white bulbs for £34 and from there I was hooked. Have almost the whole house covered (although I've never spent RRP on any except 1 White bulb I used to get an Amazon Prime Now order dispatched and the IKEA GU10's but theyre only £7 anyway).

I wonder if you could use the 10% off with NUS Extra too, that'd be pretty awesome.

I got my £10 vouchers after chasing it up with emails

Isn't this just the same deal as already posted?

It's just that if you buy in store it is instantly applied.

I use them to wake me up using the app “sleep cycle”
I find that I feel more fresh being woken up gradually as opposed to having the Chris Evans / Radio 2 shouting at me at 6:30 in the morning.
We also use them to gradually fade out in the children’s bedroom at bedtime.
We give them 15 minutes free reading time at the end of the day and when the lights go out that’s the signal for them to put the books down and go to sleep.
I also like using the geolocation ability - when I leave the house all lights turn out, when I get home certain lights turn on to welcome me home.
Uses are endless - I also was sceptical but I wouldn’t be without them now.

I use them for security. If my nest cams detect motion or sound when I'm away or in bed, the hue bulbs will come on. Also to set random timers when on holiday.
