The hub is first generation and I believe won't work withbAmazon Echo

I thought it worked fine with echo, only difference is that 1st gen doesn't work with siri? I'm sure someone else more in the know can help us here?

I just got the 2nd generation today and it works with Echo & Siri - possibly better safe than sorry - Got from J Lewis BTW

I purchased this from Amazon during a Lightning Flash Sale, and returned it for a number of reasons which are:

The Disney App that this works with expires and will be deleted at the end of December 2016. Not all books are FREE you only 3 Hue Books which may stop working after the app is deleted from the App Store and you constantly get a reminder of this when using the app. Finally every-time you open this app you need to enter a random number password which is changed everytime it is executed which is very annoying.

Its around 4 years old now, so certainly showing its age, as I understand the 1st gen starter pack will NOT work with Amazon Echo and certainly not Siri or Homekit.

Its certainly a LOT smaller than some pictures appear, its essentially a 1st Gen Hue Bloom with Plastic Mickey Ears, and you need the Disney App for it to work.

Most importantly one of the reason I returned it was that it seems a lot of these have been returned and simply re-sealed to seem brand new, when I opened the package from Amazon it was clearly evident the box and opened and re-sealed, there was even finger prints on the bulb itself.

To conclude its certainly very expensive for what it is.

Hi got one of these from eBay last year (was a bargain) and think it's great. Yes the app is about to be closed down but if you have registered already you can down load the new Disney storey central app and if you follow the instructions carefully you get your books transferred and another 4 new ones on top. I guess the interaction won't work any more (that was cool) but the light looks good and is a full hue colour one. It will be just one of my hue lights now and works great as a baby night light. Hope that helps someone
