12.5kg ... wow.

I guess it's cheap for a reason.

Just for some different context, I bought my daughter a secondhand islabike beinn. It looks brand new but still expensive at £250 but it's 7.5kg and should be nice to ride. Also my son will get it when she's finished with it, and I'll sell it at the end for say £100. So for her that effectively costs £75 ((£250-£100)/2).

I agree, weight is crucial. My 21" frame mountain bike weights 13kg with aluminium frame. I'm not sure why they use such a thick steel tubes to build these frames and then when you have to carry the bike somewhere it wants to rip your arm away...

Cold. My 7 year old landed a 15ft double on one of these and the wheels fell off.
