'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland' by Lewis Carroll is just one example taken from the huge collection of literary classics published by Penguin in their Popular Paperback Classics range which can be delivered to your door for as little as £1.78!

How can that not be considered a great bargain?

There is something here for everybody, the choice is vast and for all you book worms there has never been a better reason to finally get round to reading some of the greatest books ever written.

Simples. I can get my mum to use her free travel bus pass to go in to town and get me the book from the pound shop. There, delivered for for a £1

That doesn't sound like a great bargain for your Mother and the RRP for these books is £2.00.

Bought a couple of these, jungle book and alice in wonderland, made with recycled paper too!

Great bargain.

Think mine were from amazon.

Good deal, there are however a lot of literally classics available out there in the public domain, hence why some E Readers are now coming bundled free with them, such as at Waterstones with their Elonex E Reader.

I got the Penguin Popular Classics version of "Pride and Prejudice" from Amazon for 2 quid. The cheap ink on the pages came off onto my fingers and from there all over the green cover. Basically, these books stand a good chance of being a total mess when you're done reading them, so I'd either pay a bit more for a better copy or just borrow one from the library. Not voting either way, btw.

Mmm, these are fine, and they're not that expensive, but the quality of the print, paper and binding is pretty low. Kind of cute though. If the book you want is available as a wordsworth classic, I'd go for that (lots in the works etc). That said, if you want something delivered, these are very good value.
