Saw this offer on Zavvi and debated about posting it as a novelty. Now seen it posted for £7.50 with Amazon. Only £5.99 with Zavvi! Plus free Next Day Courrier Delivery included.

Deal with your Arachnophobia at arm's length with the Spider Catcher. This nifty little gadget is basically a long pole with a handle and spiny bristles at the end. Pull the trigger and the bristles open, release the trigger and the bristles close - allowing you to capture any wee beasties in your house without hurting them and deposit them safely outdoors.

Fantastic for wasps, bees and other stinging insects too!

Spider Catcher - the environmentally friendly way to remove spiders from your house.
Catch and hold/transport spiders or other insects without hurting them (or you!).
Plastic 'grabber' handle and rod, nylon 'grabber' bristles.
Comes with clear bristle protector.
Size: 65 x 15 x 7cm

Also people tend to have had problems in the past with delivery of goods from Zavvi. It says on the website "order before 4pm for next working day courrier delivery" and the delivery is still free.

OMG you mean there are 'Humane Spiders' on this planet? Christ, it's like a 1950's B Movie. I'd better buy one quick before they take over the world and devour my children.

It's only the inhumane spiders you need to worry about

Coming to be a cinema near you wedgie watch out!
Saw this posted a few days ago at £7.50 from Amazon (as you said, OP), and voted it cold, thinking it's a stupid inventioin. It went hot.
Now it's posted at about 20% cheaper I've voted hot, and it's going cold.
I can't tell you how much I hate this bulb competition. It's making this site a laughing stock lately...
These are much better...

reptiles.swelluk.com/rep…ase

We use them for feeding bugs to our Tarantula's...and for moving Tarantula' around when cleaning/rehoming..
I still prefer to use a rolled up newspaprer/magazine

Well I thought as you have said if it's already 200 degrees at £7.50 then surely I can't go wrong. But the bulbs are messing with all of the ratings.

Basically people are avoiding voting on anything with a bulb unless they think it is guaranteed to go hot (i.e. games, electronics etc.) so other worthwhile deals are going by he way side as they fall down through the pages, as most of my deals have.

I may be mistaken but under the buy button it says this:

"Express Delivery - if ordered before 4pm, delivered by courier next working day. More Info »

Available on orders placed before 4pm for delivery next business day (excludes weekends and Bank Holidays). Orders placed after 4pm on a Friday will be dispatched on Monday and delivered Tuesday. Applies to most delivery addresses within mainland UK."

I can't see any mention of a minimum order value and as far as I can see it does not have that text below every item on the site, so it's maybe just on certain products.

Damn funny when you're 12 stories up
These come in left and right handed, and a wide range of colours and designs

this is a pound in poundland..
Use your hands to put spiders outside, it's not like ours are like Australian spiders...
phobia of them my ultimate secret......stick one in front of me and I start sweating, my heart pounds and i'll do anything to get it away from me.... i need a roomba for spiders so i don't need to get involved
Have to show this to my sister. She usually tries to get one of the cats to eat them.
My wife once bought me one of these. It didn't work for picking the spider up, but worked nicely for beating it to death. Job done!
Spiders are great, mosquitoes are the real enemy. Stop picking on the wrong creature.

And besides, if you think killing something less than 1/100th your size makes you tough you are a bit sad.
Best go kill an elephant afterwards then to keep you happy.....

What ? Upside down ?
Those spiders will devour all of the other creepy crawlies that are much less desirable, but if you prefer the latter, then kill the spider!

I feel the exact same way. The competition was really badly thought out.
The thought of grasping a spider in this thing and possibly missing and seeing it scurry away under the TV, never to be found... *shudder*

And then the thought of carrying it to an exit and thinking about it wriggling in there... *shudder*

I have proper arachnophobia and there is NO WAY I could use one of these things. My husband is my spider catcher, and he uses his hands.

Like this?
I too fear spiders, I can remember it starting when I watched arachnaphobia as a child. Yes I realised it is made up but then I've read about them paralyzing animals so...
I dunno, I dont get it.. I just use a pint glass and a bit of cardboard, its cheaper and I don't have to find a cupboard to stuff it in! (Its probably a bit girly but Im not gonna use my hands!)

Wouldnt mind watching someone trying to get a wasp with the catcher though!

How is splatttering them with a magazine not humane?
don't be such a woosie!

More to the point, what do you do with this hardly used item that gets forgotten about (like many "fabulous" impulse buy's of no merit) ..& there's a spider set up home on it?
Can someone please explain the bulb system to me?

And a good deal I guess, but not something I'd ever use. At any rate, I wouldn't be bothered enough to hunt round the house for a special stick when I have my hands at arms length
Now £9.99 - next day delivery is £3.95......
Hairy ****, room invading, menacing looking, evil name possessing, scurrying devious little ****
Anyone actually thought, by the time you retreive this blooming thing front eh back of the cupboard wheres its been festering, the spider will be looong gone ?
