Humax Foxsat 500GB HD Recorder - ASDA - £99

Not sure if this is national or not, I'm guessing it is a misprice.
They had loads in Doncaster. I assumed they had just put the wrong shelf label out but went to check the price anyway. I couldn't believe it when they confirmed it was £99.

I'd only signed back up to Sky a couple of months ago while I waited for some better deals or newer models to come out before buying a Freesat box, couldn't resist this at £99 though.

(Showing as £230 on ASDA website)

It seems some of these have the wrong barcode stuck to the front. If someone sees one in store and gets the price checked they might find they can still get one for this price. Just make sure you give it to a member of staff who doesn't look like they know much about Freesat boxes!

Good if you can find one.
None in Asda @ Accrington
Looks like they might be mistaking it for the HD Receiver (No Hard Drive)

I would be round in a flash if I lived a little closer
Box and Receipt. Not that this will help it it was just a one off mistake.

Just checked with store £229
OP, you shoulda cleared the shelf at this price.... bargain.
Just rung up it's not 99.00 it's 229.00
I'd like to see his bill, only a bargin if they actually had them. Please upload you bill.
I've uploaded receipt, but waiting for moderation I think it said, probably appear in a bit.
The description on my receipt doesn't sound right, not that there is much of a description. It's possible that in store they may still be the wrong price, if the look it up by name it probably brings back the correct price.

Near enough for a trip to buy five (or more) and stick them on ebay
Amazing bargain you got there! Realise that the 500GB drive might well fill up quickly nowadays with so much broadcast in HD, but it's easy enough to DIY upgrade in due course - did that to my 320GB version a couple of years back to 1TB.

Haha I reckon all the Yorkshire lad's must have surely cleared the shelves by now
Great price for 500gb bargain.
This isnt a bargin. Its an all in one solution but not a bargin.

I could whack together something that does the same thing, for less... with a 2 TB hard drive.

How they have the cajoles to charge more than 100 nicker for it i'll never know.

All i can say is there must be alot of technophobes out there.

Wonder if they scanned that stuck-on barcode on the front? Perhaps that's the source of the error.

Quite right, it is however a bargain.
It seems you can put anything on here and get it voted hot even if it is not available. If you take the barcode no. Off of the receipt you find it is not for this item. why do people bother to lie about so called bargains. When it is so easy to check.

What would possess you to post such a stupid comment. You're either a troll or a very stupid person - probably both.
Very very sweet deal. Hot from me.

They did scan the barcode on the front. Just checked and the one on the front matches the receipt as you would expect but the one on the side is different. The lable stuck on front with barcode does have the correct description though. They have probably picked up the mistake by now but if not the price might still be £99 in store if the scan the front barcode.

No you couldn't. 2TB HDD is £70 at least, even at £80 they are a bargain on this site. A DVB-S2 tuner is at least £50. Then throw in everything else you need like Motherboard, CPU, RAM, Case, PSU.
That label on the front is definitely the problem. Looks like Humax stuck that on, not sure why it is still there though it even lists ASDA purchase order number. Think someone at the factory pressed the wrong button when they printed it, it has the correct description but wrong barcode. I would have thought this would be the same in all stores if they came out the Humax factory/warehouse with the incorrect barcode. If anyone is going to a big ASDA it would be worth a look.

Thought as much. So, if you see such a device in Asda with a barcode on the front that matches the one on the posted receipt, do be careful not to take it through a self-scan and scan the wrong barcode as that would be very naughty.
It's cold, anyone with some wet string, sellotape, iron fillings and an electric toothbrush can make a High Definition 1TB dual tuner, 14 day egp Freesat HD, Freeview HD, SkyHD and Virgin HD receiver for about £34.24 and if you bolt on a hacked Casio calculator then it'll decode all Sky box office movies too.

I can't believe all the idiots that don't know how to do this, sheesh people must walk around in a daze.

I suppose next they'll be saying they've never heard about converting cars to run on water for an outlay of £4.34!

If I buy anything that has a manufacturer barcode on the box I always try to get that scanned as it sometimes comes up cheaper. If it comes up more then I just point it out. Had some bargains in the past
I dont know why people still bother to help out and put potential bargains like this up on the site when all they get is **** comments and idiot trolls.

Well done OP for getting this.
Siralun bought em all, whacked a YouView logo on and is selling em on for 299

a stupid person that knows that this is nothing more than about £20 worth of hardware connected to an hdd and twin hdtv tuners.

if it wasn't for the red tape then a raspberry pi would be more than capable of this.

i love this site and want to make violent love to everyone who posts on it.

i find roofies help.

Though they do tend to "frown" on that afterwards.

Thats when i regale them with my cost efficient ways of smarting up that old tv. Usually their minds are so blown by the concept they forget to press charges.
what a waste of time did smile though u must have time on your hands ...ya dont bring women home to show em ya freeview box?

Don't waste your breath on these numpties Sf2rox, these people will never understand that a fresnal magnifying lens stuck infront of you Pye 14" crt TV gives a 42" widescreen TV for a tenner although you do have to stick some black tape top and bottom to get the letterbox effect.
