Managers special? I ordered a grade A about month back for same price.
Just to add, the unit looked as if it was new.
Very nice piece of kit, far superior to sky HD box, but prefer the sky epg. Actually prefer sky for tv but too expensive.

my dad got one of these from humax, grade a. perfect condition and happy with it. he's got a few grade-a bits from they and they are still working a few years on.

£239 brand new online at Dixons delivered - minus quidco and 5% discount code doing the rounds, so probably works out the same for a brand new

Personally, I got mine from richersounds as for an extra £20 ish the 5 year warranty was a steal and definately worth considering

Don't know why there are still so expensive?

I have a humax standard PVR and i am a great fan of hese well built units. I am very tempted but for another £17 which includes delivery I can get a brand new (not reconditioned, returned or repackaged grade A) unit from Amazon. therefore for a store return is this a good buy as a managers special ? would have expected a little more knocked off. voted neutral

Lots of complaints about these on Which?'s site as well as quite a few (but a minority) on Amazon. May explain the seemingly endless supply of refurbs?

Anyone thinking of taking the plunge into HD should really do their research as well. There's no Channel 4 HD on Freesat & ITV currently broadcast only one or two programmes each day.
