Not Bug Free

I bought a HD-FOX T2 from Richer sounds.
It had an ongoing problem that needs a fix
In the sound menu the default setting is
L L
If I change this to
L R
After a change of channel or after a power off & on
It will not stay changed
It reverts to
L L
I did not buy a product to improve the quality of my viewing
Only to revert to Left channel mono with every change of channel
Humax didn't reply to this enquiry that I emailed them
So I contacted Humax customer services
They said we know about this it will be fixed in a software update
I asked when & was told we do not know when
Buy a T2 if you like mono or playing with buttons
Thankfully Richer Sounds where much more helpful
It went back

Thanks for the heads up LFishpond

Bad customer care does my head in, If you are wanting to buy a product/service it is always good and you can speak to someone right away and they are very helpful. When you have already paid for the service/product then it is totally different, all of a sudden the people dont help and often just say that they dont know and even put the phone down.

I am having this problem trying to to cancel top up tv, as soon as I say i want to cancel they put the phone down. #i have been to the bank to cancel the payments but they can not do it because it is a type that they cant stop (can not remember the name of it)

That's Humax for you I'm afraid. As a 9200T Freeview PVR owner I know all about Humax using customers as beta testers. It's about two years since the 9200T was promised an update to solve bugs. Time has dragged by and now more serious bugs have reared their heads yet Humax just spout bullcrud to owners about an update "coming soon".

I want to upgrade to a Freesat PVR but I'm loathe to buy another Humax.

There are ongoing problems with earlier Humax freeview boxes, especially after digital switchover. Just Google "Humax lockup" for the evidence.

Humax have failed to deliver software updates for the 9200 boxes (all now just out of warranty) and I would think seriously before spending cash on a Humax product.
A five year guarantee would be a must.

Not strictly true. Available from Winter Hill transmitter now which covers the North Wales Coast parts of Merseyside and Manchester. To be honest you are better off with Freesat. You can buy an LNB and dish for around £30 and you get ITV1 HD and BBC1 HD. Also BBCI player and soon ITV player, these will never be on Freeview. For the future it is worth noting that Freeview cannot support many very many HD channels compared to Freesat or SKY.
