Cheapest I have found these, normally £239.99!

A great bit of kit too. Very fast, very reliable and far better than anything Sky has on offer IMHO. No subscription fees either.

Picture quality is superb too.

Normally this price for Grade A, Price you've quoted is for brand new with 2 yrs warranty. The refurbs only come with 1 yr. Personally I'd wait for them to have more 500GB ones at £129. (requires a dongle for wifi though)

I have a refurb 500gb one and I'm pleased with it. I use the WiFi connector that sky gave out for free with it and that works fine :-)

Wouldnt powerline be better than wifi?

I have two Humax freesat receivers and the remotes on both are not very good - erratic performance.

I hope the remotes on the more recent models are better if Humax has dealt with this problem which ahs been reported before on this website.

I'm sorry but you're wrong. They are normally this price for the 1000s model. This is the updated version: 1010S.

They normally retail for £240. The 1000s is cheaper.

Yes they retail for £240 for a brand new product with 2 years warranty, this is not a brand new product but a refurb (Grade A) and has a 1 year warranty. This is humax direct's standard price for this product as a refurb (which is what I said in my first post).

Yes, powerline would generally be better, however they don't work well in my flat (ancient wiring I think) and I have a humax HDR fox freeview recorder and use an edimax dongle with it and it's fine, never had any issues with it, and it cost less than a tenner. Not sure if you were commenting about the OP's post or mine, I only mentioned the dongle so that the OP was aware that I did realise the difference between the 2 boxes I talked about.
