I am fairly sure this is the 500GB version, I searched the product code and found a review site advertising it as such.

Next cheapest I have found for a brand new model is £210! That excludes ebay and sites I have not heard of before.

Does anybody know where they are at with integrating the Sky player software in to it or has it been canned?
Yeah it is the 500, I think the 1tb was £175 (£250 less 30%)
I saw their new 1TB 'YouView' model in comet for £200 ...
These are very good bits of kit, and easy to use and navigate your way round. If you have a NAS drive or similar on your home network this can play most video formats too - just plug in an ethernet cable and attach to router

Or even a wirless dongle for £15ish ,(got mine from play.com)
I don't suppose there's any danger of getting a warranty (from Comet) for this?

no chance whatsoever although you will still have the humax warranty but not sure what their CS is like
I saw this earlier this week but I went for the Sagemcom 320gb version instead at £105
My experience with humax CS was very good. They sent me a cable & a cd, so I could upgrade a firmware myself, rather then waiting for an update.
Went to Comet on Great Western Rd and as the store is closing down picked up the display model of the Humax DTR T1000S 500GB Youview box with remote and box (no hdmi cable) for £140 it was 50% off.

All display stock was 50% off absolute bargains.

There was a Humax HDR Fox T2 Freeview + HD Recorder 500GB display model with remote for a bargain of £110

So keep an eye out for bargains.
I have one of these machines it's one of the best bits of kit I've ever bought and for this price an absolute steal...heat added.

Just wanted to add that I picked one of these up at the weekend for £153 in the comet clearance so check out your local store if you are after one

You don't need the comet warranty as Humax will fix it at any point in the first 2 years free of charge.
Have comet sold all their Servers? Or have the administrators not heard of the interwebz.
Thanks

Pay the entire purchase amount by credit card, and to highly paraphrase:
the card issuer is equally liable for warranty obligations.
I have the 1TB version - an absolutely brilliant bit of kit, worth every penny.

Too expensive to rearrange their whole operation just to clear stock from their shops, I guess.
This box has awesome build quality and super responsive UI. The only reason not to buy at this price is the 1TB version
If only my Freeview signal was better in my area (can only get major BBC and ITV channels, not Dave etc)
And I didn't watch GOLD/Comedy Central on Sky, then this Humax shall be mine!
For users of apple / android devices and if you have the wifi dongle, i strongly recommend the Buzzplayer app. (for sd recordings)

Only one i found that works perfectly with ipad iphone etc, connect to your wifi andit copies shows diectly to your device without needing to convert anything (was very surprised to find it works) and the shows are ready to play back through the Buzzplayer app.

Also available on android. Plays back through mxplayer. I have found the android one not as smooth but thats because i have things such as juicedefender on...does work though
Thanks, I shall search Comet Lincoln tomorrow
Check out the hummy.tv custom firmware for this if you want extra features (sky player, remote scheduling, web interface, ftp, bittorrent, etc)

Does this app actually copy the SD programs over in full and are therefore archivable, or it is just streaming?
The T2 is brilliant out of the box but with the custom firmware it turns into something magic.
hummy.tv/for…01/

For example, I can auto record a series in high-definition and have the Hummy remove the DRM. I can then download the resulting MP4 to my tablet (via the network) to watch on the train. Or I can access the web interface over the Internet to set or manage recordings. It also becomes a DLNA server and client. More recently I can set it to hoover up all of the South Park episodes on Viva and then automatically delete any episodes that have already been recorded.

Who wrote this custom software? If I install it, will this invalidate my guarantee?

Edit: Just read that it will so not sure if I will install it or not, will have a think about it.

Bought one of these a year ago and it has been excellent but recently has missed a couple of set recordings. Anyone got ideas on what to check first? PS I'm not very 'techie' on this stuff so simple description appreciated!

Have you checked the obvious stuff like it wasn't a clash with other set recordings, space on drive etc. With other humax pvr's you used to have a limit on how many recordings you can set, but I don't know if this applies to this unit?

I would have thought so, though the update can simply be removed.

I recently have experienced issues with recordings. I put it down to the spread of 4G.

not streaming. Copies the file over. Also this is done without changing factory firmware etc...

it copies the .ts files straight to the device. With iphone /ipad the file needs to be played through the app, on android the file shows as a .ts file and mxplayer plays these fine.

For IOS users probably the easiest way to get showson to their devices

was thinking of outputting the screen to another tv in another room via long hdmi cable and controlling it that way.

I'm not aware that there exists an app to do this, though technically I don't see why it isn't possible. In the absence of such a solution you would need an infra-red relay. I'd suggest however that a more elegant solution would be DLNA.
None in Lincoln, the shelves have been raped!!

"4G services will be launched next year." Current 4G from EE uses existing spectrum so I don't think it's that.

I had another PVR (Technika / Tesco) which was also good at first but started to do the same, especially when more than about 3/4 full. Didn't expect same from a Humax.
