I have one, it has only missed one recording and you can adjust the recoding time too:thumbsup:

I have one of these....never had any problems & only £130....also has a dvd recorder built in

Waiting for the Humax FreeSat HD HDD Recorder coming soon.

Lovely machine, never any probs, you set it to over run or under run to catch programmes.

Have one of these and don't have any problems...but only paid £140 for mine at Christmas. There seem to be quite a few Topfield 250Gb recorders coming up second hand at the moment for just over the £100 mark... I would be tempted to go for one of those rather than a Humax at £155.

I had mine for about 3 years now, never had a problem. Very user friendly.
Humax are continuously improving it with over the air updates.

There is a forum for people who have this machine that has lots of help and assistance for people who need it.

I think I paid £120 for mine in January from John Lewis and it has definately been one of my best electrical purchases EVER. I have had mine miss a couple of minutes off the beginning of a rare programme but that is not the recorders fault it is the broadcasters. You can set it to record 5 minutes early and 5 minutes late if you want - though I think you will lose the "SERIES LINK" feature if you do that.

Would definitely pay £20 more to get the new version. One drawback of the 9200 over the Topfield was that the Toppy had component out ability and the Humax didn't. It meant I couldn't run my Humax through a switching/upconverting amp. With the new one I could.... better still has HDMI (as does the new Topfield).

Get the best, forget the rest.

You don't need a warrenty, they are cheap as chips now, pick up a non subbed one for under £20 or a Subbed one for £100-150.

Ebay is your friend..

Whatever you pay, it will still be the best piece of hardware, and best featured PVR you will ever buy. It is even much better that Sky+ and you know how many people love that.

Give it a go.

I thought they didn’t support Freeview natively! If so, can you still seamlessly record BBC3 etc in the way you can with the Humax and other Freeview PVRs?
