I'll take the cold ones for this @Illusionary

I think the later reveals will make this better but we'll have to see but not the strongest reveal in my opinion.

The initial reveal is indeed not as appealing but as you say hopefully they improve it later.

I've voted hot. I think the asking price here is on par with what the ATL for Battletech is, and that's before the extras. Thanks for posting @Sherbat

Indeed it is but I still expected to get rained down with cold votes when I saw it - just how I saw KF2 go when I initially posted it. Thanks.

I like mecha games but not ones where the difficult is in the cheap AI and gameplay's shallow and repetitive. Gonna look at the reviews and feedback more before deciding whether to pause or get this. A strong second early reveal would probably tip me over to getting it.

A new low. They should review how this service works, and maybe make it happen every 2 months.

I'm not at my laptop to post it anyway

Still a very decent game, to be honest, though in my case one that I already own. I'm glad to see that we're back to just one early unlock, so that the full reveal is as meaningful as possible.

Oh it's actually good? I just glanced at the reviews on Steam and Metacritic and thought it was average, would love to be wrong though. I think Humble will add another game - not enough people will want Battletech as it looks like a niche game.

A new low would be EGS exclusive monthly - until that happens, these monthlies aren't too bad but sticking to the general rule of whether the early reveals are good enough for you works. I'd rather not the mystery element but that's what the weekly bundles are for.

It's niche, certainly, but what it does, it does well.
Damn... I want battletech! But not enough time to play all my old games! Just got into rainbow six siege as was a free week and thought I could meet some noobs! someone told me about newcomer mode too - so has been good playing people I can shoot and learning!

I got KCD a couple of months back and enjoyed it but got bored towards the end... tempted by this! We shall see!

Most of the best games are.

...and whilst Battletech may not rise to the level of greatness, it is still a game I've been wanting to try, and I'm confident there will be plenty of other stuff in the bundle that I'll want. And, yes I'm glad to see only a single unlock as well, Hell, I'd be happy to buy them completely blind if it helps keep the (overall) quality up.
I'm marginally interested in Battletech. Was underwhelmed with September's offerings, but then I'm not massively into FPS or bullet hell. State of mind I'm hoping will carry it. Can't win them all.

Glad I skipped it, though I am quite interested in Guacamelee 2 and Mothergunship. Any interest in a trade or have you redeemed them?
OMG, where is Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

Rubbish again this month for the main reveal, plus glad i paused last month - think this might be 4 months paused now

Maybe time to play some of my 1300 Steam games??!?! I'm sure there's a Twitch stream in there somewhere...

I forgot guacamelee 2! Enjoyed the first game. I've clearly moaned prematurely. Already redeemed I'm afraid.
I was very happy to see Distance in this months. I was looking at it on Steam for £7.79 and would probably have picked it up there if it didn't appear here.

Most folks I watch that talk about it also loved it. It has a very active modding community - I believe the mod Roguetech is this game's Long War. It was developed by Harebrained who made the recent-ish Shadowrun games. It's a sandboxey + campaign style game, like a Battle Brothers or Mordheim. Looking forward to giving it a go myself for sure

Quill18 has done a few series on it if you want some bonus tutorialising (he's very good at that)

First impressions weren't great I'm not gonna lie but this is a case of not judging a book's by its cover I guess. I'm not entirely sold on the game but I'll check out those videos, thanks for your insight.

RE: Mordheim - I got that from a different bundle and will say, it proved too awkward to get into but will give it another go when I get the itch to play it. I enjoyed the XCOM games but never finished any as it gets crazy hard.
I thought the same with Slay the Spire. 27 hours later, I've decided its pretty fun and addicting...

Battletech looks like Mechwarrior combined with Xcom...

That's essentially what it is - turn based hex game based on Mechwarrior. They had a free weekend some time ago and it isn't bad, but it gets repetitive and I think it's overpriced for how basic it is. Personally didn't find it as gripping as Xcom.
Battletech is a turn-based version of Mech Commander 1/2. Harebrained Schemes have a history of concentrating less on graphics, more on gameplay and storyline. If you like Shadowrun, Mechwarriors or played the Battletech board game then you'll enjoy this game thoroughly. Yes it becomes repetitive, but by then you'll have nearly completed the game. It is worth buying the Humble Monthly subscription for this game if you like turn based software.
Slay the Spire and Guacamelee 2 are both on Xbox Game Pass for PC/Ultimate, so many may already have access to the best of last month's bundle.
Two Battletech DLCs and Sonic Mania just got announced as further additions.

Is the DLC a seperate key from the main game? I already have the game itself but I'm interested in the DLC, would be a waste if they're one key.

Three separate keys.

If you have the key for the base game going spare, I'll always gladly accept donations for my weekly giveaways - but of course, no pressure there, so with it whatever you prefer.
