I think exactly the same. The USB connection and on board sound card on these is epic. Even using the 3.5mm plug on the same headset in the same PC sounds awful after you have experienced it in 7.1 .. never going back to 3.5mm.

Use these pretty much daily and they're very reliable and well built. Got them for around the same price in Curry's/PC world a few months back and worth every penny.

Heat.

great headset, great price!

Awesome price thanks

I managed to pick these up a few months back in Currys for £32, they are pretty decent headset and solid too. £49.99 is a good price. I have seen these for upwards of £90 and I feel thats too expsensive. Have some heat OP

Personally I think if you're after a wired gaming headset then I don't think you will find better than this without spending a lot more. Even then, as I mentioned in another deal a few weeks ago, I've been less impressed with Sennheisers headset at over double the price of this.

Was just looking at buying a head set. Was looking at Astro A50 but noticed u can’t use on all consoles and pc. Can these be used on Xbox , PlayStation and pc? Also is wireless the way to go now? And 1 last question about head set Dolby Atmos are we going to get Dolby Atmos headphones next year or will downloading the Xbox app for £5 be all u need ? Thanks and sorry for all the questions

Absolutely brilliant headset for the money, very solid build and great sound for the money. Good find

This one or Turtle beach PX24? all I need super human hearing and foot step etc

Where did u see the Xbox app for £5? When I looked it was around £13. Haven't bought it yet but been using the 30 day demo, sounds good using these headphones.

This. Always this. Clouds are headphones with a mic, whereas turtlebeach is trash with a mic.

This is a fantastic headset, we have 2 of them.

Will these work on a PS4? Always used the stock headsets for gaming so may treat myself but are they as good as I keep hearing? Thanks

So they lose 7.1 when plugged in via 3.5mm? does that mean using them with xbox isnt 7.1? or do you still use the USB connection?

I believe so yes. I've not read the specification but think they'd just be stereo using the 3.5mm jack on the Xbox but they may be compatible via USB, I don't have an Xbox.

I've only used them on the PC and the 7.1 button is on the USB attachment that the 3.5mm jack plugs in to and you have to press it to get the 'boost'.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong though because I'm not reading this anywhere I just assumed it was part of the on board soundcard which is part of the in line cable.

All I can say for sure is that there is a significant drop in quality going from USB connection with the 7.1 button pressed and 3.5mm jack with no option to press that button.

Sorry I can't be more specific.

Edit: but you're a fan of Muse so you probably wouldn't notice ... Totally kidding.

Ordered these to replace my really old 'Fatal1ty' ones, thank you!

Exactly what I did. These aren't quite as comfortable on the ears as the Fatal1ty ones (they are far far far from uncomfortable I just found the Fatal1ty ones to be like clouds) but are superior in every other way.

Plus you're not losing the red accents

No thats great, appreciate the reply! it would seem that way reading the blurb! Shame if its not as good quality on 3.5m but then its probably still better than my TB XO Four Stealth set (hangs head in shame )

HAHA, True! As you can see the name is an old one thats just stuck for laziness sake. Hard pushed to call myself a fan of theirs these days!

Definitely worth checking out elsewhere as I could be wrong cause this headset is really good, would be a shame to miss out cause of me lol.

Noob alert... Sorry any help much appreciated. These of the Cloud Revolver on Amazon (Prime only) for £50?

alternatively, any chance of them matching this price as it seems from a quick look the Cloud II are preferred to the Revolvers

Didn't like this headset at all. Mic isn't great and the sound was horrible. Sent it straight back

Yes because the USB is for the built in sound card that provides the virtual 7.1 surround sound.

dolby atmos 7.1 app, turns any headphones into 7.1 (works fairly well)

Thanks, I got the last one in Birstal/Leeds

Smyths have had these on sale a couple of times this year. I got mine for £39.99 back in April and only saying so anyone undecided doesn't feel the need to rush into buying them.

Available online for delivery now as well.

Back in stock in the shops - Just picked up a pair in teesside. First impressions are that these are very very good headphones. I also have turtlebeach i30s for work (rrp £100+, got for £40 here a while ago), and I think these actually sound better... not tried 7.1 yet!
