Tbh I have always been a fan of using Dolby with games on my Astros, and turtle beaches, and other mid range headsets, but recently got some Sennheiser Game Ones and now I use them stereo only, and positional audio is still there perfectly, without that awful echoey hollow sound.

These are meant to be tuned very well, so I wouldn't always worry about the dolby surround mode as it isn't always needed if the headphones have a good sound stage already, and these are meant to have that.

Watch out for the metal band aroudn the top, i had the previous version and they "twang" noise when knocking them was a deal breaker for me.

I haven't used these but they have some pretty good reviews about them.

These guys seem to think they are better than the Cloud 2's

Mic quality seems to be improved over the Cloud 2 according to

Mic is more important than audio for me (which also has improved) so it's an instant buy for me. Heat added!

Heat, although torn between picking up these and waiting for the Cloud 2 to drop back in price (it's been as low as £35 I believe at one point). Mostly after comfort (with glasses on), but obviously sound and mic is important too - that video 123JohnSmith linked was interesting, but contrary to the pcgamer that rated the Revolver much higher Audio quality... mmm...

Good price but abit misleading as it was never really £99. multiple place are selling them £75

I was talking to someone on Xbox Live in the US who bought this yesterday and the mic quality was really good, this should have been an instant buy at this price, but then I saw the Cloud Alpha's and they look so similar to the original Cloud headsets, plus that headset has volume control and mic mute so they would be more suitable for the Xbox One and PS4, though they are more expensive at the moment.

Why do HyperX make headsets that are so good...it is a shame they no longer supply the velour pads.

Apparently people who purchased them originally were offered a "free" sound dampening kit to fix this and it was added to the pack in later versions but anyone who still has this issue should contact Kingston for their free sound dampening kit.

I picked this up for £58.99 a few weeks ago. After using a moderate amount I have just returned to Amazon.

Pros:

1. Good sound for price.
2. Decent looking
3. Long cables
4. Easy to drive

Cons:
1. Metal band on top causes constant bangs and scrapes - this sound travels to the ear cups, this means you have to stay really still to use.
2. Cabling is of low quality, every time it brushes against clothing a scratching sound can be heard in the ear cups.
3. Semi open back but still not overly comfortable on the skin, can cause minor sweating if worn for more than an hour.
4. Had an issue where team mates could hear my game audio over the mic slightly if it was turned up to moderate/high volume.

Overall a lot of headset for the money, the issues with sound transference (both on the cable and the metal top of the set) meant it was a return for me.

Just my experience of course!

And touching the cable makes a scratching sound in the earcups. I sent them back and got the Cloud IIs, soooo much better

Seems to be £77.99 now.
