This is the estate version of the i30. £1047.60 initial payment + 116.40 for 17 months =3k total over 18 months.

I was kicking myself when I missed the hatchback deal a few months ago and seriously considering this as I have another one the way and need a bigger car.

Car retails for £17,500 so this works out at 17.2% the total cost over 18 months which is quite a bit under the depreciation estimates I found online. Seems to be aviailable 8 different colours.

Spoke to RVS and they currently have 8 different colours with metallic pain as a free added extra. Confirmed there are no additional fees.

I think this deal will actually be for the 2017 onwards model

start/stop kills it for me, worst invention ever on modern cars, …start/stop kills it for me, worst invention ever on modern cars, negligible fuel savings and excessive wear and tear into the bargain!

It's only an 18 month lease. Can't really see that being an issue.

Which matter nought on a lease car which will be under warranty for the entire time you own it. And also, you can turn off the Start stop you know... It's not compulsory.

It might retail for £17500, but what's the price you'd actually pay for it? How much would it depreciate from that price after 18 months?

Slightly interested into what you drive.. I would've thought that most if not all cars from the past decade or so have start-stop?

Nope. Start stop has only been a popular option for 5 or so years. My top spec 2012 mazda 6 doesn't have it

It's weird some cars have it and some don't even the same models from the same era. I had a BMW 320d 2011 and it had start stop, then my 330d 2013 didn't have it??? Can't say I've missed it though.
Looks like a good deal, shame about the engine though.
Great given the current lease climate and lack of decent deals. Short enough to tide you over until something else comes up at least.

You can turn it off. Sorted.
Don't really like the car but I could live with it for 18 months
If I can push delivery back a few months then it should tide me over until somewhere near March 2020.
From April 2020 the BIK rates on EVs will be just 2% making it very attractive to have one through employer/business
Although I expect the current £5k grant will be removed, the above BIK measure will really kickstart the EV market

Yeah when coming to a stop behind another car I look forward to getting a lung full of exhaust. I get so disappointed when I find their engine has stopped and I can't get my fix. My kids are the same.

Likewise walking down a street of stationary strffic.

any company giving you car and expecting you to do less than 8.000 miles would be better off to just pay you 45p a mile rate.

Just push the button to turn it off?
Thanks for posting, OP. Most people seem to be debating the on/off button, rather than the actual deal, which looks like a good one to me. So I'm off to investigate.

Awful based on what? Your own personal experience? If so, what did you experience? My missus got rid of hers on Monday after four years of trouble-free ownership. It never skipped a beat, returned 70mpg and she was doing 60 miles per day. It is a well built car with plenty of kit. In fact, we were so impressed with it we part ex'd it in for a Hyundai Tucson.

So, if there are people out there trying to make a decision as to whether this is the right car for them then I would highly recommend it based on the fact that it has performed brilliantly for my missus.
Got given an i30 a couple of years back when I took my i800 in for service. Apart from the lack of seats and it's tiny size in comparison to my bus I enjoyed driving it. Rear view was restricted but it Had a camera fitted that helped. The one I drove had everything fitted, cruise control etc and given the reliability of my Hyundai I'd buy one. Also like the way Hyundai are prepared to accept their mistakes and rectify them. My rear heater pipes were steel and most owners had a corrosion issue. They replaced them at 4 years and then fitted alloy ones the year later under a courtesy recall. Every other car I've owned has had issues, all ignored or denied by the manufacturers.

There is a switch to deactivate start stop and it's more of a pollution saving which used to get you cheap as chips road tax . Wear isn't an issue as won't kick in till the engine is warm enough for no more wear on engine compared to it being running. Isg battery and starter is of a different type so don't worry about it ........ Cause go back to first line you can switch it off.

Thanks. So would it depreciate to £11k in 18 months? Maybe, but it makes leasing it for £3k over that time period seem questionable.
not sure if this helps anyone but my missus bought hers in 2014 and it was a year old at the time with 7k on the clock and she paid just under 11k. She part exed it on Monday, with 60k on the clock and got £4700 for it - if she had sold it privately she would have got slightly more obviously.

You are so wrong.

The engine suffers less wear and tear because it isn’t running quite as much as a car that doesn’t have the system, and the battery and starter motor are heavy duty and designed for extra starts. I work with Kia that of course share technology with Hyundai, stop/start has been implemented since 2009, I honestly don’t think we have replaced a single starter motor.

This said, I’m sure the ‘premium’ brands haven’t had quite the same success with the system, so that is perhaps why your experience hasn’t been quite as good.

Nope! Bought an i30 for my old man. It's better built than my wife's focus and doing better mpg. Would consider one to replace the focus when it goes. Better spec for the money and a 5 year warranty as well.

No - no need. You'd only need a minor/oil service and unless you drive like a complete lunatic, you won't need tyres either.
