We don't seem to have seen any good radiator deals recently, well here's a corker. Next week is going to be chilly, this one's ideal for anybody who needs to keep toasty but wants to control costs carefully. Unplug this beauty and hey presto no more heating costs. Until you plug it in again - but YOU ARE IN CONTROL unlike some central heating systems which come on and go off at pre-programmed times. Just £24.99 delivered, find me one cheaper and I'll say go buy it then, thought this one was the cheapest and so far I'm not wrong. Links for bigger models:

1500w amazon.co.uk/Hyu…LK/ £29.99

2000w amazon.co.uk/Hyu…CU/ £33.99

in$anity8 - Good price for branded Oil radiator. Have some heat

£24.99 is for the 800w version!

Good choice!

I have this one and its ok if you just want to take the chill out a SMALL room but thats it wont heat a big room

Its only 800 watts,you`ll freeze.

This might be better but more expensive I know --- lidl.co.uk/cps…htm

Gave heat though (_;)

Then I LIKE that dose of honest good sense!

800w, you'd would be warmer lighting a fart

You posting this deal along with the fact I didn't know that Hyundai made radiators led me to look at Hyundai's Wikipedia page. "The company spun off many of its better known businesses after the 1997 Asian financial crisis, including Hyundai Automotive Group, Hyundai Department Store Group, and Hyundai Heavy Industries Group.

The Hyundai Group now focuses on elevators, container services, and tourism to Mount Kumgang."

Mount Kumgang. One is amused. Voted hot.

Interesting bit of research there Rubisco!

I've had the 800w ones before* and you'd need a really tiny room for it to be useful.

* Which look to be an almost identical design.

I'd have thought you should be able to pick up an 800w one for less from a local store if you shop around a bit.

I use my 1800w (bought from Sainburys over ten years ago for £8 or something silly - me and my housemate who worked in that department bought most of the stock they had) one with an ET05 theromstate ( google.co.uk/sea…T05 ) which works very nicely controlling the temperature - as it's only in a small room, it's actually not on that much, even set at 24 degrees.

Just gone out of stock then. Bought one last week.

Nice price but never sure about the efficiency of these things

My understanding is that there is no such thing as 'efficiency'!

Strange as it may seem, all (say) 1.5Kw oil filled radiators are as efficient as each other and equally efficient to other forms of electrical heaters such as fans.

Ie they take 1.5Kw of electricity and turn it into 1.5Kw of heat.

None of them waste anything!

Some are faster, some are slower, but none is more efficient than any other.

Perhaps a scientifically minded person can back me up here?

The fan takes up electricity too...

Plus any energy given off as light by LEDs or indeed the red-hot element...

Is the fan's movement turned into heat eventually?

Heat added, literally!

Just as good for kids rooms if you go in store dunelm mill junior

From previous discussions on here the conclusion seemed to be that no, there was no such thing as an in-efficient heater.

I think it boils down to that the 'waste' of course is 'energy'.
Energy can be measured by how much particles are moving - so heat.

Bit late at night etc, so rather vague and not claiming I fully understand it anyway :).

I got thinking about it last time it was discussed.
Take an LED bulb and a couple of 'normal' light bulb. The LED bulb gives off similar light to a much higher wattage traditional bulb with a lot less heat.
However, compare it to a traditional bulb with a similar wattage and it's probably getting about as hot.

According to the laws of thermodynamics, yes... eventually X)
