Really like the look of these cars but the engines are just so slow and sluggish!

It’s never the one in the pic

Yes it's always a pic from 5 year ago when she was 3 stone lighter!
Nice find. Shame its not auto. Would have went for it
Great car, poor engine, and for those saying "why do you need to go fast", that's not helpful, when your pulling out of a junction or driving fully loaded uphill,....you need more......the euro6 diesel would be a better choice

Good deal
Amazing deal
Shame it's not the model in the pic...
Anyone who got one of these recommend it? Or otherwise?
Looks a good deal for a nice looking car
Pretty good deal for a brand new car.

Well buy a sportscar then, why do you want to go fast at that height?
I was shocked how nice the Tucson was when I was looking earlier in the year, even though this is boggo spec it’s still got a lot of kit, I thought I was in a higher spec model initially

The engine in this is a definite weak point, doesn’t have anything going for it - very slow, poor mpg but for the money it maybe worth putting up with

there are ldelivery miles examples for less on autotrader but a lot of car for brand new example

I don't want to go fast, but 0-60 in over 11 seconds is sluggish and you would need to watch out being oventaken by the cyclists!

Yes but the closest model to this is the Duster 1.3tce comfort. Which is only about £2k cheaper than this deal. So not as cheap as you would think.

The Mrs test drove one earlier in the year and she agrees. Going from a Mazda 5 and even that felt it had more pulling power.

The T-GDI was a possible but it was just too much of an increase in cost.

Naturally aspirated cars are tuned down now to such an extent (to meet emissions requirements) that they're just gutless.

Exactly what my thoughts are. We need to upgrade our C-Class Estate C220 but to go from a 0-60 of 8.6 to over 11 secs will feel like driving in treacle. Shame cos this is a great price spec wise

I agree. the 1.6l petrol isn't strong enough for the size of the car
Hyundai base models are extremely poor. Plus there slow and sluggish and poor mpg. I had an Hyundai i20 19 plate on a courtesy car a few weeks ago and no way would I purchase a Hyundai. Rather stick with my Mazda CX-5 🏻
Ordered a Tucson today actually, although went for the Premium spec bit still got a good deal (carwow etc)

they look nice and have good spec, we aren’t car people as such (and the other car is a 63 plate 1.4 Astra) so the sluggishness didn’t bother us.

looked at the Grandland x, Skoda karoq and the Seat alteca. The grandland is a terrible car. Others were good but nowhere near the same deals.
Yes unfortunately these are let down with this engine. It's gutless, lethargic and really poor on mpg. Baring that it's a nice car.

We also have a Tucson on order, SE Nav spec. We only do 5,000 miles pa around town and on A roads limited to 50mph. We have no need for a fast car and fuel costs are less of an issue with our mileage. I always drove faster cars when commuting longer distance but these days speed and rapid acceleration are immaterial. It works out at £45 per week on a lease agreement and we hand it back after 3 years and get something else. Perfect for our needs

I have. Amazing car, would defo have another! Mines not the basic spec it's the premium se nav 2 litre so I'm unsure if lower spec as good. Beautiful drive, wonderful family car.

Got this in july, hate it with a vengeance! The petrol i put in is like feeding an elephant strawberries. Give me back my Kajar
I had one of these on Friday as a courtesy car whilst my I30N was in for a repair, it really struggled going up hill it could really benefit from having a turbo, but on the upside the interior is quite nice.
That’s why these kind of cars are so cheap.. electronics and digital things cost pennies for the factory but to build a proper engine, absorbers, seat and dashboard materials etc are costy.
So, these budget suvs pushing their cars with endless electronics to wow you people who fall in their trap, but those extras not handling proper hardware..
Like someone said above, when you see a cyclist on the road keep to the left and give way for them ,)
Can't go wrong with 5 yrs warranty
Shame iits not auto or hybrid
Good price for a Manuel car

Compared to what? a Lexus or Range Rover that cost 2-3 times? For under £17k these are probably the best car money can buy.

Compared to Mazda CX5, Toyota RAV4, Skoda Kodiaq. Sorry if I've hurt your feelings
Darn it, we just invested in one of these! Brilliant family car, loads of space! It's not a fast car, but it does have sport mode
Is this a 7 seater? I can't recall which model Hyundai is
Urban MPG 34.4
Combined MPG 40.4

That fuel economy is woeful.

But the Mazda and Skoda are £5k+ extra and the Toyota £10k+.
If you have £21.5k+ to spend then if you want power they have the turbo variant Here or if you want MPG the have the diesel variant Here.
I have just got the 1.6 turbo Tucson n line auto great car love it the only thing is it ain't great on fuel around 30mpg
Not sure why people think these are sluggish, depends what you are comparing it against I suppose. Haven’t had a problem with mine, I’m often able to pull away from junctions and other cars in a timely manner. Had an Astra previously and I hardly notice any big differences given the size of this car.
