go deal....same price roughly as normal dvd,go nice for anyone that has an hd dvd player or anyone who got the hd dvd drive from amazon.de,i take it the cold votes are from people who are going to say hd dvd is dead ant the like...i have an hd dvd player...voted hot

The blu ray version is better than this.

Save yourself the money and get the blu ray version when you get a blu ray player.

i cant see how you can say this is better on blu ray, both use the same This 1080p/VC-1 encode codec for picture so quality on them is identical ,read one of the many reviews on the internet to back this up,only thing i can think you mean is that its hd dvd which is being phased out,but i dont want to kick all that off again ,but quality wise they are exactly the same

It is lacking some of the extras, but the film itself is the same quality as the BluRay version.

add an extra £1 for qicker shipping - 5/9 days - otherwise its a 3 week wait (my experience) - Considering these are going for £20 this is a good price, even if it does lack a few (needless - my thoughts) features. Good deal!

Because in 1 0 years time you will still be able to buy a Blu-ray player or sell the disc when your bored of it.

HD version, you wont get much or any re-sale value next year onwards

Watched it a couple of nights ago. Can imagine the sound being quite something in HD.

Good price, voted hot.

Hmm! Just 42 pence less than I paid for the player.I,ll play the waiting game. If bluerays still here in 10 years I,ll eat my floppy disks!

£1ish cheaper here. Approx £9 + £3 p&p

deepdiscount.com/I-A…htm

reliable company, bought about 8 hd dvds from there.

^ and you're saying we get good prices for dvds we get bored of these days? who cares about £1 or £2

voted hot, exact quality of blu-ray version and much cheaper

yeh thats what I meant. Even the dvd version has the alternate ending sequence.

Thats not true in my opinion - There will always be a market for these disks if people have players to view them on, which they do (still making BR/HD DVD PC combo drives) - so these will always hold their value to some extent . . . . . . Have you tried buying a Betamax, VHS player or tapes? Hugely expensive - though thats me going off on a different tangent!

I am sure in 10yrs time Blu Ray will be obsolete too, and in the same boat as HD DVD is now - they are already working on new formats - and Blu Ray has moved on too, making some players already obsolete (so I have read!)

Lets look at price and DEALS! This is a DEAL through and through . . . .

Banned

What a constructive comment, did you read it on the back of a toilet door?

I always laugh at how many assclowns are prepared to argue about formats and not what's important....the actual content.

I didnt say you could save money. I said save yourself the money.

the ending of this was the worst ending in a movie

the begining of this film until about 30 minutes is very very good

Ah yeh so it does. Its just missing the other extras.

could we have a breakdown of the costs then ?
I assume I have to throw away my HD DVD player and all the discs (about 60 ) that I have got for about £5 to £6 each and replace them with bluray ones

What is your problem.

I give an opinion and you get all ****** about it.

Voted hot even though i didnt think much of the film myself so defintely wont be buying even if its as low 99p tbh:roll:

Not even BlurRay can make this movie any better :whistling:

If you want to see a good copy then watch The Omega Man starring Charlton Heston (& preferably on Betamax)

Let it go! You chose the wrong technology! Move on!

Change format or face a life of ever decreasing content.

Whichever you choose, avoid this film at all cost. Hyped drivel.

HD DVD may have lost the format wars, but its a little bit early to say that BlurRay has actually won it - there are still DVD's, downloads & [my personal favourite] memory sticks in contention. If you think back, no one really won the DAT digital tape wars although Sony did slightly better than Phillips as it rebranded DAT as a PC backup device. I certainly wouldn't go out & buy lots of Blurry disks just yet.

Pot Belly is rght ya know. We should all stop taking advantge of cheap HD DVDs, throw away our players and buy everything new... or we could wait until dual players come in next year or use a media PC with a dual format reader or shock horror kep buying cheap high quality DVDs and keep enjoying the upscaled DVDs.
