Great price for a great book, and no doubt that the book is still in demand after the blockbuster movie.

Taken from Play.com :-

Robert Neville is the last living man on earth ...but he is not alone. Every other man, woman and child on the planet has become a vampire, and they are all hungry for Neville's blood. By day he is the hunter, stalking the sleeping undead through the abandoned ruins of civilization. By night, he barricades himself in his home and prays for the dawn. How long can one man survive like this?

Would've preferred vampires to the cheap cgi things from the movie, but this book is a classic.

A great price for one of the best Vampire novels ever written. Forget about the film, the book is MUCH better. Voted HOT!

I read this book after seeing the so-so film. It's a fantastic read! I paid nearly a fiver on Amazon for it. It's well worth 2.99. Voted HOT HOT HOT!

So much better than the rubbish movie

Movie had nothing to do with the novel, they should never have dumbed the story down and have the audacity to keep the title. Bah.
Excellent read, I might buy a copy to add to my bookshelf. Thanks OP.

Richard Matheson is one of the best writers/screenwriters ever to come out of the US.

Any chance you get to read any of his stuff....grabbitt!

The guy is a genius at his craft. This is one of his best.

Excellent story. I have all the books in this Sci-Fi Masterworks range, an excellent collection.

Read this over the Summer last year, before I even knew about it being adapted into a film. Enjoyed it immensely.

Shame the film doesn't quite live upto the book, but it's still enjoyable nonetheless.

Definitely voted Hot on this one! Can't go wrong for Three English Pounds Minus a Penny ^_~

ordered and quidco

I wasn't even remotely interested, seems promising from every comment posted here. I'll place an order!

This is a really enjoyable book, and not heavy at all to read. You could literally get through this in an evening if you put your mind to it. I've already got it but this is a great deal, I can't recommend this enough.

Yeah. I could have easily read it within just a day if I wanted to as it's so damn addictive from the get-go, but I decided to spread it out over the course of several lunch-hours in the Library I worked at last Summer. Think I should really read it again actually. I may well just put in an order myself =)

Or you could just download the ebook version.

Good book!

Need a good book....so by going off what everyone is saying, I've ordered. Book review to follow!

Damn, I bought this book last week for £6 from Waterstones :(. Good price, voted hot.

It's a very short book.....about half an inch thick if anybody thinks they're getting a novel.
Good read though.

Just finished reading this last night. Excellent. And now the title makes sense!

I was only looking for this the other day and the best price was £5.48
heat and rep added
ordered thanks

Not read the book, but seen the film and was impressed with the concept. Albeit, not the film. Got me so interested I've ordered the book and then signed up to HUKD to add heat to the find.

Great book and great price.

Just my personal opinion but I thought the book was awful. If you think about how lonely Will Smith is in the movie, imagine it in a book. I didn't get past about page 30 and that was an effort. I ordered it after so many other good reviews. I guess it's me though, as I can't stand autobiographies either; bore me to tears. But a damn good price and I'm sure most will enjoy it so voted hot.

Mattheson is a great writer, Hell House is also a good read but I don't think it's in print any more. Although apparently he "liked" the Will Smith version of I am Legend.

Hmm, yeah I was looking forward to the movie but was a bit disappointed by the ending. Apparently there is an alternative ending - anyone seen it?

Hot, btw.

Great Book, for those that didn't like the Will Smith version, you should try the Omega Man with Charlton Heston or The Last Man on Earth with Vincent Price.

buying this now, getting it together with Cormac McCarthy's The Road, another apocalypse style book that is suppossed to be amazing.

Last Man on Earth is a lot closer to the book than I Am Legend. Omega Man is just it's own ball of awesome.

Cool, thanks for that.

Yeah it wasn't any better as an ending.

Ordered one, great price H + R added:thumbsup: James Herbert's 48 is also one I enjoyed if anyone is into these apocalyptic last man alive type stories.

Ordered- heat added.

Agree with devonbloke, 48 is another great apocalypse novel, along with Day of the Triffids (if you can forgive/forget the shaky BBC TV series!)

Got mine today - now got to find time to read it!
