Yesterday I looked on comet.com and saw a LCD TV with an exclusive internet saving of £101 (making it £698) so I phoned the number at the top of the web page, the operator contacted the store and said I could pick it up from my local store and still get the internet saving. I also got it on buy now pay later. What a difference a phone call can make...
If you are going to buy a TV, look on the website and see if there's any internet exclusive deals and then ring...
Hope this helps someone

Not exactly news - Currys do the same, as do Empire Direct.

It was good news to me coz I didn't know that... very chuffed with new TV though!

nothing new here
glad you are happy

Comet and Currys generally overprice their TV's by a massive margin. Dont know what model you bought but I would bet with confidence you would have found it much cheaper elseware anyway.

I had a job - briefly where I had access to the cost vs retail prie of everything at comet and even in the January sale you were looking at around a 35% mark up:whistling:

I rest my case! Instore or online Comet and Currys are a totally uncompetitive. Whats more, Currys cant even price match with its own sister company Dixons. Example Samsung LE26R88BDX LCD TV £499 instore at Currys - Dixons price £388. How can they justify such a price difference when technically they are one and the same company!!

Bought one at TribalUK with a discount code, delivered for £350 and a small percentage back shopping via Quidco.

nothing new...but thanks
