You should consider that everything is made of chemicals. Whether they are natural or artificial shouldn't be used to decide whether or not they are good or bad.

Vaccines - artificial and very good.
Formaldehyde - natural chemical, carcinogen - found in pears. :P

I wouldn't eat this at any cost! Pure hydrogen fatal for your body.

i have no difficulty believing its not butter!

A typo? That's all you've got? A typo? Seriously?

I say buy 2 tubs of 400g - take your 500g and save the rest for a rainy day - it'll come in handy when you're bouncing atound an asylum swapping butter for 'favours'.

Wow... Bizarre.

(Typo for your amusement...!)

Have you tried the lemon version? I can't believe it's not bitter. Disappointed with the premium version - I can't believe it's not better. And the deep fried version? I can't believe it's not batter. As for the version sold in Northern Ireland - I can't believe it's not botter. With apologies to all.

It's been this price for weeks at Farm Foods so don't go riding to buy...

Apparently one element from being plastic. Just a bit scary!

I can't believe it's not £1.50.

I can't believe it's a bargain!

Water is one element away from being bleach. Hope that's not too scary.

Since when has NaCIO been one element away from H2O?

he meant h2o2

It's still not butter. Don't bother.

Then he should have said Hydrogen Peroxide not Bleach.

lol true, all this avoidance of butter... in Normandy we have butter and cream with everything yet very low rate of obesity and heart disease. (blame sugar and bad bread)

According to WHO data, the prevalence of obesity is about 24% and I don't think that can be called a very low rate considering the UK's rate is around 26% and called an obesity crisis.

I can't believe it's not butter because it isn't!
I wouldn't put this **** inside my mouth. 'Real' butter is the best. Spreads are all ****. The ingredient in butter is ... butter. Look at the list of ingredients in this crap. Can they get them all on the pack?
Years ago we had full cream milk and butter and fat (not a fatty in sight, except Billy Bunter) ...then from the 90s we had so-called 'healthy eating' and skimmed milk and 'spreads' (oh ffs! spreads, yuk!) and what happened?
OBESITY RULES!

No no no no no.... No. No no no no nooooooooo!!!!

Sam_The_Red

Pure hydrogen??

He means that some margerines have hydrogen atoms added during a process hydrogenation - but at such miniscule levels that it poses no significant risk to humans. You would literally have to eat 2kg's of marg a day for a long period for the hydrogen to kill you off - by which time you'd probably be dead anyway (from eating that much marg!!)

Hydrogenation does however form trans-fats... Not great but again, in moderation wont do too much harm. Both butter and marg both end up having the same amount of fat - but marg has trans fat due to the hydrogen infusion process.

Not all marg is hydrogenated... Check labels for hydrogenated oils etc...

Marg also preferential for lower cholesterol/ low chol diets as... For ovvo reason.

Marg being close to plastic?? Yes... Potentially - if youre incredibly bad at chemistry... Graphite is incredibly close to diamond... Now where's my HB pencil?
