I suppose we can all now now say 'I CAN believes its not butter!
Saw this in St Albans today, and at first glance I thought someone had mistakenly putt the 'not butter' item in the cheese section.

Weirdly the packaging doesn't say what it actually is if it's not chedder!

When I saw this, I immediately thought that Quorn had missed tricked when it came to naming product for marketing!

what is it if its not cheddar? am i missing something!

i cant find this product on their website?

I'd be a bit dubious what it actually is then! Is it cheese or some kind of vegan substitute?

EDIT: Apparently it's just cheese with 30% less fat. EU law says low fat Cheddar can't be called Cheddar on the packet - and this is their way of getting around it. Pretty clever!

I can't believe it's not a hot deal

bought this last week from morrisons- was not keen on it myself

I like cheese but we have a block of this in the fridge at the mo - haven't plucked up the courage to try it yet... somehow I'm not filled with enthusiasm for a cheese substitute.

It's not a cheese substitute. It is cheddar but with 30% less fat - just like cathedral cheddar light etc.

It is in all intent and purpose cheddar, they just aren't allowed to call it that because of the low fat bit - an EU rule.
