This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

Me and a few friends have bought these for various projects (firewalls, ESXi hosts etc). Basically new condition. Just need to add 2.5" SATA drive. Comes with single 8GB DDR3L SODIMM with space for second stick taking it up to max of 16GB.

Thing that caught my attention was the dual NIC which makes it perfect for firewall tasks.

Listing priced at £84.95 but auto accepted offers of £80.

If anyone wants to use it with ESXi, the Realtek NICs are not supported so you will need to inject the Realtek VIb. Found a guide on a Chinese forum that had the steps. Probably a UK one somewhere but this did the trick just need to translate to English.

I think so...BIOS from mine.

Perfect thank you!
Not bad, chuck in a cheap SSD and you've got a decent PC with some interesting possibilities.
Does the CPU on these support AES-NI?
Thanks OP, will make it my new NAS, the seller accepted £80 offer.

Thanks for checking, I checked on Ark too, all good!
10 units left...
Great little low powered Plex server
Been like that for a couple of days. Must have a fair few. They are modified Zotox ZBox NUCs. Seems they are from a DR service provided by a company called Datto. These are a Datto-2000 unit. These were little servers controlling large capacity NAS by the looks of it.
Top lights up with company logo if you enable "Logo indicator" in "Power" section of BIOS40056643-wxsuN.jpg
Don't know why this has appeared in "PC parts,RAM"...Any mod ok to move it to somewhere more appropriate please?

Out of interest, do these thing's already come preloaded with a Windows OS (of some ilk), on them already?, or ... lol, thanx.

No hard drive, just RAM installed.
Fair enough, I'm assuming that this can't therefore be used as a Hackingtosh either then?.

Thanx for the reply back anyway.

I'm more interesting in using it as a form of firewall anyway, lol, any suggestions/link's, etc?, thanx.
good find!, more usefull then a alienware alpha!.

Not sure about using it a a Hackintosh but with regards to the firewall, I'm using Sophos XG Home. Tried it installed onto the bare metal and it worked fine. Now using it within ESXi 6.7 u3 to make more use of the resources.

Definitely chrome box
Depends on if you need 2 NICs or not. That's what attracted me to this device.
it's slower than Pentium N5000/J5005....
These are ex Datto boxes which handled DR directly to the 2TB SSHD. They were, interesting in their original guise but are brilliant little HyperV hosts, if you don't over tax them.

you might want to double check
Will this work with pfsense/opnsense/untangle? I thought that the Realtek nics would be an issue.
Realtec NICs are a pain to use with pfsense...
It could do a fairly good media center though.

That's a shame. I've been wanting to dip my toe into pfsense for awhile, this would have been perfect. Thanks.
These NUCs have Realtek network interface. pfsense doesn’t work very well with it. The issue is the FreeBSD driver. Apparently the latest FreeBSD supports the interface really well. But pfsense is based on older versions of freeBSD.

The issue you will have is your link will drop randomly which I had experienced. It will just die for like 5s or for an instant usually but at other times it will die for a Long time. The most I had was over 2 days. Resulting in a complete reinstall.

The other issue you will have is that when you are doing heavy traffic on your network such as streaming or file transfer, the LAN one will fall over. As the data is being routed by the box for some reason the Realtek NIC will just die, again some times it will recovered by itself after a few minutes but more other it is a restart of the box.

You want intel NIC

Don’t really see the point of running EXSi on it as it is dual core.

The real purpose for these are download box or media server attached to a large unmanaged disk array. These processors are good enough to do transcoding apparently. Not tried myself.

From what I have read you can manually upgrade the realtek driver and this solves the Watchdog issue in pfsense.

You can but it is a total pain to do.

Every time you do an update on pfsense you need to manually reload the driver. Not fun.

No reason why not, but I’d swap out the hard drive.
Thought it was an actual NUC from Intel at first and not zotac. Pity.
I opened one up and I found an m2 slot, and yes it works.
