I couldn't justify myself spending that amount on a cpu which will be outdated in a year or less.

If that is your thing, go for it.

Not a great price, and if you're after this for gaming an i5-4690K will be almost as good and nearly £100 cheaper.

Hmm.. Bearing in mind a 2500k is still more than adequate, I can't see this being true. This thing is a monster, even without the hyperthreading enabled.

i bought mine for £218 plus £6 delivery.

Where from?

Actually in most games the 4690k performs better than this, I did my research before due to wanting this or 4690k and just bought the i5 and saved 90 quid in doing so to put towards a much better graphics card.

ebay uk. the seller always is putting them up in a batch of 5 at a time. his names pcparts4u06

you can message him and he will let you know before hand of the next upcoming batch.

There is no way an i5 performs better than a i7...Some games don't use 8 threads maybe, but you disable HT and the i7 becomes an i5 with 10mb cache.

I don't understand why the prices aren't dropping on these, I expected the 47s would drop to around £200 when the hexas and 8 cores appeared, but they seem to be creeping upwards instead.

Is there a big difference between this and an i3-4130T? or is it not worth the money to upgrade?

Personally, would'nt order from ebay but sometimes deals are too good to pass on. Unforunately this can be found at the same price on other sites so i wouldn't recommend it from here.

Depends on what you're doing. CPU Mark is very simplistic and in a lot of real world uses you can expect the difference to be much less. If you've got a mini PC you may find the cooling system isn't up to handling this processor, the T on the end of your current one indicates that it's rated to work with a limited cooling system.

Now that we've got the six core i7-5820k for £100-150 more the case for this processor isn't as clear cut as it once was. While the fewer cores allow it to be pushed to a higher clock speed which can help in some uses like games, as mentioned above an i5 is often better value there anyway.

i do indeed have a mini pc and ok ill look to upgrade to the i5 in future!

I can't understand why this can be above 0C when hotukdeals.com/dea…033 nearly £10 cheaper is currently subzero at -84C.
