ICECRYPT T2400 HD PVR 1TB version Freeview+ HD box. £67 @ Tesco Extra (instore)

I popped into my local Tesco Extra in Yardley today and popped up to the discount section as I always do and found the ICECRYPT T2400 HD PVR 1TB version on sale for £67.00 (apparently reduced from £200). It was the last one and I thought that it was such a good deal I didn't hesitate to pick it up right away.

I don't know if this deal is available elsewhere but it's worth a look! I asked the guy at the checkout and he said that they were selling off old stock so you might find it in other shops, though on the Tesco Direct website it still shows £200 and 'unavailable'.

I thought Tesco Express stores are usually petrol forecourt and smaller convenience stores stocking mainly food alongside everyday essentials. Bit strange to sell electrical stock.

Sorry that should be Tesco Extra. My bad, I'll edit it now.

Don't forget the title too.

T2400HDPVR.
T2400HDPVR Manual.
T2400HDPVR Spec Sheet.
T2400HDPVR Firmware.

Worth updating firmware then factory reset & format HD before use.

It would be recommended to do factory reset and rescan after the S/W upgrade, there is no need to format the HDD but if possible we would advise to do so as this would eliminate any possible issues (it will delete your recordings).

Good reviews around for this, only flaw is:
"not being able to delete a watched recording whilst the PVR is recording anything new"

is that fixed in the current firmware ?

not exactly a flaw, more a limitation - and one not unique to this device

yep and on some devices the increased activity caused by a delete causes a dropout especially in sound if not picture in the recording(s) - so I can delete but don't risk it anymore

I got this for the same price at Tesco Extra in Maryhill a couple of weeks ago so not just specific to that store OP. Good find.

Not familiar with this unit, but good value, especially with a 1TB hard drive.THnaks

Wow! What a deal! Shame I don't really live near any Tescos £67 is an incredible deal! Especially when Amazon is selling it for £239.99 and it's lowest price is £189.99. Can't seem to find a price lower than £100 anywhere!

Good find, looks like a bargain.

I'm not sure, I'll try to update the firmware tonight and let you know. I tried quickly last night but it wasn't seeing my USB stick for some reason.

Can you use this to record from your security cameras?

None in Trowbridge, only the non recording version for £50. I'm guessing you will have to be extremely lucky to find one!

Is this a sky plus box?

Just got one from Tesco Extra at Clay Cross, It was the last one on the shelf. I had a £6 off a £40 shop voucher so got it for £61. Thanks OP.

i got one too, but like a previous quote my usb ports are not recognized either, could it be a fault? as icecrypt suggested to me the machine is faulty if the usb ports are not working, i have tried everything, any help advice if someone finds the answer thanks.

I managed to get it to recognise the USB memory stick today. Yesterday I was using a 32GB stick which I guess was too big for it to use maybe? I tried with a 4GB stick today and it worked.

Hope this helps

I bought one of these on Saturday also for £67, they only had 2 left (I bought one of them) at Tesco Express in Bletchley, Milton Keynes, I was looking into buying a Humax Freeview Recorder (which are over £200) but for £67 this is a bargain

Oh and I checked and it has the upto date software.

I can't imagine these even compare with Youview boxes avail without subscription, avail cheaper than this (ebay) ?

I transferred an mp4 file to my 16GB USB stick just now and it recognised the usb stick but couldn't see the mp4 file so obviously doesn't support mp4's, not a problem though for me as I can play via the usb on my tv anyway.

Thanks to Lee3burn3 for this, I picked up 2 from the Tesco Llansamlet store, one for me and one for a mate and there was one left at 6pm tonight if you are near the store, they were on the shelf opposite the back wall in the corner past the click and collect pick up point still marked on the shelf edge at £200 but I self scanned and checked it was £67 before purchasing.
Would never have known if I'd not read the original post before going to Tesco, hmmmmnnn, mind you there is nothing wrong with my old digibox pvr apart from not having HD on it and only about 40 hours of recording time on the hard drive so did I really need it?
Still a great bargain at £67, the WDE green 1TB hard drive is nearly £47 alone from ebuyer.
Set the one up with my mate on his tv, took a fair time to tune all the channels but good picture and sound when done and the usb plays some films from a portable hard drive but not all, probably different types of file, you can also show the HD channels on a non HD TV via scart if needed by selecting SD output.
All in all a good buy I think, will probably leave it until tomorrow to set mine up when the wife is out

Picked up one from Risca today, in the discount bins, marked up at £200 but scanned at £67.00. Cheers Lee3burn3.

They also have non-HD Digihome (I think) Freeview+ PVRs with a 500Gb HD for £29. Surely the drive itself is worth more than that?!

Bought one today for 67 quid at Shrewsbury Tesco Extra. Had to ask at the desk as they were none on the shelves. There were a couple left when I asked.

Just picked one up in Addlestone, on shelf on its own, no labels, but scanned at 67 quid, so worth keeping your eye out!

Three in tesco Coatbridge.
Well two now.
None now
