Brilliant.
Any ideas on transfers please?

Sheesh, seriously good! Think you may have cracked my OH's Xmas present!!

hey stacey, a long shot but any couples holiday mid august?

Once you have collected you luggage and are about to leave the airport there are some booths on the right hand side. There u can pay for your transfer and jump straight on a coach to reykjavik bus terminal or for a little extra you can pay to go to your hotel. At the bus terminal they have mini busses waiting so u can filter off the coach and onto the right bus for your hotel. Sorry for the long post. Great deal

Great find.

Only £25 more from Edinburgh airport for us up here.

Fab deal don't suppose u have come across any from Newcastle or Manchester at a push? X

eeek must not check mcr flights as I have no leave left (and i think hubby to be is planning a little trip back to Iceland as part of our "city break honeymoon" before the biggie. Love reykjavik. just a tip stay in the city centre, some of the hotels the bus took us too after trips were miles out. Google reykjavik excursions or gray line iceland for trips but price check against travel Republic. I got the golden circle tour £10 cheaper each off travel Republic

Ha ha lush hope u get there. I'll check them out thank u x

the transfers go for each flight, it's a monopoly last time I looked it was about £28 return, I paid about the same in 2007

Depending on what time you land you could get a transfer which goes to the Blue Lagoon first if that is one of your things to do. The Blue Lagoon is near the airport. Once finished there are buses on to Reykyavik. Alternatively you can do the same thing on the way back to the airport.

Thanks, will have to check if London airports available. Daughter getting married 13th Dec, so this would make a perfect gift as they are not going on honeymoon until Feb.

With a risk of upsetting those who can't see sense, anyone considering this deal in Iceland should consider that in december they are:-

a) unlikely to see the northern lights due to cloud cover.
b) perfectly positioned close enough to the arctic circle to enjoy 4 hours of daylight.

cheapest price you can find from london??? I cant find a cheapy one and this is on my *bucket list* !!!!

Someone's up bright and early! Shame we can't say the same about the weather

I can't find a cheap flight! Wish these came with a link to the full thing like the groupon vouchers lol

Is that because you're better than an expert because you've been to Iceland in November, April and July. Do you not have anything better to do than comment on every Sunshine Stacey post? If nothing else, it's a cheap trip to Iceland. Her 'cult' wouldn't be pleased with you at all....

There never flights from Scotland on these deals! It's very annoying!

I'm surprised he's not suggested that Stacey changes her username to cloudy Stacey or moonshine Stacey with all these non sunshine holidays she's posting!

Anyone thinking of going, I'd advise to get an appartment (with a kitchen) to make breakfast, make a packed lunch and cook simple evening meals like pasta and pizza and Iceland becomes a cheap country to visit whilst there too.

worth a look

I stayed at the klopp, it was decent and well located. Book a tour to see northern lights on your first night as most tours will take you again for free if you don't see them.

I went to Iceland, never saw the lights. They did have a good deal on a prawn ring tho.

Did you stay there twice? Haha

I'd recommend car hire. Petrol is cheaper than here and these tours to the gold encircle etc aren't cheap but easily accessible by DIY. (Thats driving yourself if you were wondering!) don't use the car for whale watching though! Lol

To be fair, he has a fair point. People would likely want to experience the lights. If there's likely to be heavy cloud cover that time of year its very good of him to warn people. Who is this expert you speak of by the way? Stacey trawls the net for cheap hols on almost a daily basis much to the delight of many and her efforts are much appreciated I'm sure. That doesn't make her the ultimate expert on every destination though.

Food for thought. People click the deals and book. HUKD get their cut. Maybe stacey gets a cut too. Who knows.. if she does, she deserves it :-)

Makes you wonder

He had a point, the first half a dozen times. It got boring after that in each thread.

Is there anything going from the midlands for this kind of price I'm struggling to find any but it's somewhere I would love to go.

ha, smartphone problems.
re: hiring a car, I wouldn't want to be driving on remote Icelandic roads in December unless you are experienced with driving in icy conditions and you get a very good car. Even then, would rather leave it to the tour companies.

There are always lots posted from Scotland you just need to keep your eyes open for them. Someone has said earlier in the thread that the Edinburgh flights are available at £12.50 more.

Yes, he had a point the first time he made it. It's boring now, after making it on every single thread. If you follow alot of SS's posts my response would make sense to you, as would the expert referral. I can assure you, I was not meaning the poster claiming to be more knowledgeable than experts due to having visited Iceland 3 times. But thanks for your response...

Honestly with the amount of effort she puts into finding these deals, I hope she does get something!

For this deal I'm not sure two days would give a great probability of seeing the lights. The best chance would be to watch out for space/terrestrial weather reports and book then, though that'd be a lot more expensive no doubt.
Edited by: "copperspock" 28th Apr 2014

An excellent deal, thanks. Hope there are still some bargain flights left by the time I get home this evening. Thanks OP.

We went this week last December and saw the Northern Lights. Nowhere near as good to the human eye as in the photos though! Yes, days are short but it takes over an hour for the sun to rise and set so plenty of light really. Golden Circle tour is a must.
