ID Mobile - £3.99/ month for 500 voice mins (+ data & texts included) VOICE MINS SIM ONLY DEAL

Found 10th Mar
I was looking for a SIM only voice mins deal, I don't plan on using data or texts. (If interested, you get 500 MB 4G data & 5000 texts included for your £3.99/ month). So basically this deal will cost me 0.8p/ minute for voice calls to UK mobile or 01/ 02/ 03 landline. With only a 1 month contract. I can't find better than that if I want voice minutes without a long contract. Can I?

[That image is same as my first mobile lol - must have been 1992 or thereabouts ]

Its not crap as far as I am concerned.Works fine here in Devon

We had a mate David in the office who got one for all of us who were interested, I don't remember it being hugely expensive but certainly a few quid. Still looking good after all these years.

Nice phone in the pic. First mobile I ever had.
The slide mechanism for the ear piece broke on mine, other than that and the battery life was a really good phone. Think mine was on orange.

I have one still in its box so hoping a lot...
I had one of them Sony mobiles and I can say it’s not 3G so anyone thinking ID sim will work it won’t, just saying
That was my dad first mobile phone.
Fyi: iD uses Three's network, so it will not work in phones that cannot access 3G signals.

You must be the only person I've ever heard say that.
At least these older phones did not have the GPS tracker system on them in the 80s.

Does anyone know which phone cannot be traced?...I've heard the old Nokia 8200 (little red one) is not traceable.
Looks like it's runs on the three network. That's the only network I get at home top post. Don't forget topcashback guys

A mobile network is a tracking device.

That’s not true, where EE is generally Three are, they share base station premises, it comes down to frequency used and terrain and also what handset the user has. I’ve had better signal and speeds with Three than EE in built up places on a iPhone 6S.

I’ve also experienced much better everything just off the A90 at points with Three than EE (1 unusable bar) and that’s one of Scotland’s main roads if not the main road - Edinburgh to Aberdeen. Even in the Cairngorms Three was as good as EE, again as they share base station sites.

With regular free costa coffee's and dominoes pizzas
Make sure you don't get your phone stolen as they will tell you that they have sent out new SIM 3 times over 2 weeks that don't arrive before reminding you that for £5 you can get one from Carphone Warehouse. Scamming lying company AVOID!

Not sure that's entirely true as I have an ID mobile SIM only and an EE contract SIM and they definitely are not sharing base stations. I get far worse signal with my ID mobile SIM.

As far as I was aware the base station sharing was just part of an agreement between the two companies for certain rural base stations and isn't reflective of coverage as a whole.

On the plus side with ID they do support WiFi calling (on iPhones at least).
Only 3g in Northumberland, and only in certain areas at that. Poor service here.
Or try 1p mobile says what it is 1p min 1p text top up £10 every 3 months
I'm currently on an ID contract. 250 minutes 5000 texts 2.25 gb of data. The coverage is good but no amazing since I've found a few areas where I couldn't get signal. Also if you want more data the contract I have is only £5 a month so I think it's a better option, at least for me.

They don’t share, they both own the sites, it doesn’t mean both networks have transmitters there. Certainly in Fife/Tayside/Angus Three have most these sites covered (but then signal in Scotland was superior anyway being Glasgow based, less land mass and buildings ie and saturation)

Yes most unusual the parent network gives MVNO Wifi call access which is great, Ofcom should be enforcing MVNOs get access as standard

things changed a bit our end lol (after discussion )

My daughter gave me her SIM which is a legacy T-Mobile contract @ 68p/ month with about 250 voice mins I think, should do me fine, she's 13 & was on that to prove she could control her usage

She will take in exchange the ID new SIM but we went for £5/ month deal to include 1000GB data & 500 voice mins, she said it's worth the £1 extra (for her) plus of course can be cancelled & exchanged for something better if it comes along.

My son is on a 1.5GB data ID 1-month contract @ £5/ month so better deals do come up from time to time

Got me worried

Just checked and she's gone for 1 month contract (4G), £5.00
  • 500 minutes
  • 5000 texts
  • 1GB data

Will have to be enough until the offers improve.

She's handing me over 250 voice mins/ month for my 68p, should be fine as it's only for random mostly landline calls during the week instead of paying BT their extortionate per minute + 22p cost (just switching back to BT after many years away)

We'll get free weekend calls

Got Skype as well
Deals been out for months just reposted time after time.
