I'm looking for a new mobile contract. I'm a light user and this seems a good deal for 2.25Gb of data, but if anybody else has any other suggestions please post.

Good price for 2.25gb data

Not a big fan of ID though
have some heat, 2.25gb for a fiver, have some heat, sticking with plusnet though
I've got this deal. Best value out there, network has great coverage.
They now offer WiFi calling?
To be fair, you can't go wrong at this price break. The data alone is worth double!!

It does seem that their customer services leaves something to be desired!
They run on Three's network incase anyone wondering
Just switched to this the other day via TCB. Best deal I could find.

Switch was smooth and customer service was fine when call up turn off voicemail. Reception not as good as Talkmobile/Vodafone but good enough in my area.
Plus net or this which one has a better network customer service ? Is it 1 month contract ?

ID mobile dont seem to want to sell this deal.
I tried it a few weeks ago and they failed the credit check.
However, I passed the credit check for the more expensive variant....

Depends on your phones mobile network. Plusnet have excellent customer service and use EE whereas ID Mobile use the Three network. I have never used ID so cannot comment on their customer service. Also it is a 1 month rolling contract.

ID customer service are appalling. I cancelled 2 months in and happily pay more for GIFGAFF. Prices are good but I’d never get ID again
Got this deal for my boy the other day , not used it yet just waiting on an unlock code to come through for his phone locked to O2 so he can use this . great price
I am using this plan, brilliant, remain data roll over too
I'm on this, use about 2.5gb data a month but got a PAYG sim with new phone which I'll use first so roll over the whole 2.25 data to next month should be fine for a while
Can you tether with this?

Opposite for me, no worse than any other network, I am more than happy to spend my fiver a month with them. I have very little reason to communicate with customer service, I use the service, get billed and direct debit takes the money. thats been the way for me since the eighties when I got my first phone with one2one. The same with Banks, not sure why people have so much trouble, is it due to going over the limit with data etc?

id mobile ... beware
On this plan for 6 weeks. No issues. Porting went well and number transferred in 24 hours. App has everything to keep you in control. Can set cap which is £5 but someone posted how to set to £1. roll over data. While tethering is not allowed officially, they don't mind if you do. Just don't go over your data limits

Utter rubbish, one month rolling contract, mine has been perfect now for several months, even the porting was done without problems. My advice grab a bargain and ignore the negative people who must struggle with the simplest of things in life. Whats the saying, a bad workman always blames his tools lol.
i'm on a 1 gb sim 30 day sim only with ID. whats the easiest way to get this deal? get a new sim and port over my existing number? can you port over a number between the same networks?
I had a monthly contract with Three for a year and I could never get any reception at a village that I go to each week. After my year was up, I changed over to Plusnet, who use the EE network - I always get reception at the village with this network, so would like to get a cheap deal for my 11 year old son on an EE network for about £5 a month with this sort of data allowance - does anybody know if there is a deal around at the moment (not on the Three network)? Thank you.

The reason I had issues is because I have a ‘special number’ ie an easy one to remember that I especially bought and have had for years. Was on Tesco for years but ID were cheaper so I took out a sim only and transferred my number to ID. However, they didn’t transfer it properly and only partially transferred it- ie I was able to receive calls ONLY from three and ID numbers, but couldn’t receive calls from other networks and couldn’t make any calls at all, and couldn’t send or receive any text messages! Kept ringing customer services who kept giving me different answers, kept saying they were looking into, or even denying that there was a problem! Horrible to get through to, kept getting told I would get a call back but didn’t, didn’t keep me updated so I had to keep ringing, No one knew what was going on and other departments etc kept getting blamed. Also Kept getting cut off when things got too difficult for the advisor. This crap carried on for 2 months, in the end transferred to Giffgaff who worked very hard to get the issue sorted and managed to get my number back in 3-4 days! Didn’t even get an apology from ID nor an explanation and meanwhile paid for the 2 months I was with them despite it causing me so much inconvenience and me not even being able to use my sim throughout that time! Another thing is that customer services was based in another country (Pakistan) if I remember rightly but the cancellation department who try and retain you when you want to cancel are unsurprisingly based in the UK!

How did you work out their geographical location? Do you normally ask specific questions enquiring on their whereabouts?
FYI if you're on Plusnet £5/month 1.5gb deal call and mention this deal and they should up your data to 2.5gb...simples!

Actually they told me- I wouldn’t normally ask because I couldn’t care less as long as the problem gets sorted. But the issue was that they didn’t know a thing about how numbers were transferred over in the UK etc so couldn’t answer my questions or help me and that was one of their excuses- someone from head office in the UK would call me back to help me (but they never did) and they were not based in the UK and couldn’t access certain systems etc that colleagues in the UK could.

in that case, they should work in my city... But they dont. So personally, I'd be wary of presuming, that if they use 3, that you'll get anywhere near as good coverage as 3 does.

Son and I have 3 mobile. Bloke that lives with us, got this network, and had pretty much zero signal even when in the city centre. For Calls and internet. He moved to 3 mobile like son and I, and now has no issues at all on 3.

ID wouldn't cancel his contract, despite rarely having signal. So waste of a months rolling contract price, even though cheap, it's the principle of it all. IMO should've been able to cancel, because of not getting signals. He said they were an utter nightmare to deal with.

I’m glad you’re having a problem free experience with them- in an ideal world there would be limited or no contact with them because everything would just be ticking over but sadly sometimes you encounter other sorts of problems that you do need them to resolve and only then is it a test of their customer service.

"Plusnet have excellent customer service"

nearly spat out my tea reading this!! I totally disagree!! Though I USED to agree.

I used them for many many years. When moved into new house, getting the fibre broadband was a horrific experience from beginning to the end of contract.

Blatantly flat out lying to me, in nearly EVERY single call, or online chat. Then telling me I misunderstood them, or telling me that I was LYING, that the previous call handler, would NEVER have told me X, Y, Z etc.

In the early days of fibre hell, they tried to say they couldn't give fibre where I am, and that I'd need take normal internet instead. and that I COULD NOT CANCEL my order! Even when mentioning legal times to cancel to them and such, they tried insisting I could not cancel.

They kept telling me to "just go outside please" when I was calling them and wasn't getting the best signal at the time. despite MANY times telling them I'm disabled so cannot just "pop outside". Even when telling them I was, theyd say later in call, to "try upstairs" or "go outside". Once they told me to "just find someone to take you outside then". !!!!
in the end I refused to deal with them via phone, and used online chat instead. So I could get screengrabs of the consecutive lies.

Ended getting my fibre. And instead of 6 months free in the contract for the fibre, I got nearly the whole duration of contract with free fibre aspect. As I was armed with all that proof of how they'd been acting/lying. But wasted MANY MANY hours, on the phone to them. The BT engineer they had out at one point, was horrified at how they spoke to me. Plusnet knew they were on speaker phone. He ended up taking the phone off me, to complain to them for me too! THATS how bad they are these days.

Yet for all the years prior... I rated them. Highly. Recommended to people all the time. Was with them over 10 years before all this. Yet they treated me like scum. Were beyond imcompetant too.
In the years prior, customer service was always top notch, they knew their stuff, and were friendly, polite etc. Perfect!! Shame they've slipped so mightily. I dealt with loads of different people there in customer services, so was by no means A lone bad wolf.

Recently moved to Vodafone fibre as finally out of Plusnet contract. Would never use them, or recommend them (used to do a LOT), ever again now.

It is just a sim card, as long as you have a 3 signal, not sure what problems you can have. Just purchase sim card, put in phone and away you go. if you are not happy, £5 wasted, again just cancel. I ported my number over, gave them a call on the day and was assured all was well and it was. No problem with customer service or the network. Please explain what can go so badly wrong with a sim card, I am intrigued?

I'm on iD and 3 coverage is identical
I get 4G calling and wifi calling too.

Customer service fairly basci but their website / app does everything youd want.
Steer clear of Id mobile if possible. Check out their reviews on trust pilot. Bunch of crooks.

Yes, but only if you've got an iPhone 6 or higher or a Huawei 10. Other models not supported.

But what I'm saying is it can't be identical everywhere, to everyone.

So folk should be aware. We've seen it ourselves. As you'll see in my original comment. So making people aware so they can cancel it early if noticing issues or finding someone with 3 mobile to check how their signal is in comparison.

Bloke had barely any signal with these guys. Full signal with 3. In same phone.

Maybe they didn't have 4G calling or Wifi calling setup?
If you don't have 4G calling, you don't get access to their 800 MHz signal.
