Pardon?

Tethering? Works fine on my 123 sim although not officially allowed.
Also do you get 150mb free every time you top up £5?
Guessing there is no three in touch equivalent either (essential for me).

If no to above then better off with 123.

How long does the credit last or is it all tied into these 35 day "bundles"?

No, £5 top up minimum or buy a bundle, like Three credit does not expire, use it or lose it applies "Your SIM will expire after 90 days of inactivity, so if you've any top-up credit remaining, use it or you'll lose it!"

But 3 credit does expire, or it did when I was looking back in September - it was either 180 days or 6 months (one of the two).

Is that not sim expiry for non use ?

Unless 3 changed terms, credit never expired...even on my Flat 12 plan I have for the rare purchase ofthe 2GB £5 data add-on, I just sent a text every few months.

The top up balance on Three PAYG 123 does not expire as long as you use the phone.
As has been mentioned u get 150MB free data on every topup with 3, so do £5 top ups.
Also use topup balance to buy a bundle to get Three at Home when abroad.
So not really any advantage over a proper 3 PAYG sim.

why did it expire did you stop using the sim or something I have a 4 sim haven't used for a long time I better send a text message to it to rest the 180 days thingy.

Not for you, but 400 more mins for a current All in One £10 UK user, thats £12 in real terms = £22 a month on Three payg or £10 on ID

Same as £15 bundle for 1000 minutes, for those who dont need AYCE data and 4GB covers - thats a £15 saving on Three payg 321 rates after a £25 All in One spend = £40 all in, or £15 with ID.

Mobile use is a individual thing, these ID mobile bundles are great for heavier callers/texters than Three offers in its Add-Ons. For data over 4GB best with Three PAYG Add-Ons and 321 rates. These ID plans are not about data users like Three, but using a phone as a phone

Data is faster direct with Three.

That will be the 3G/4G Three network for you, if you are a plumber as username suggests you need a 2G network to use as well....3 is the only network not with a 2G backup - used to be able to roam to Orange pre EE.

Any network but Three for 2G.

I didn't buy it, I was looking for a sim for my Father to put in a 2G phone - 3 isn't compatible, but I checked the expiration and it was around half a year. I don't think it makes a difference if you use the sim, if it's payg the credit will expire after a certain length of time (that was the case then, if it's changed recently then that's handy).

I don't think most network simcard on pay as you go expire unless u don't use it for 180 days unless it's. one 9f the silly mvnos like lyca or nomi mobile. I have had credit on three t-mobile-price-plans and orange and the credit hasn't expired I even have a t-mobile-price-plans which I haven't topped up in over 1.5 years it's still working. credit doesn't expire unless they just block the sim for inactivity as for as I was aware

For business o2 or it's resellers, I know in the Highlands west some people swear by Voda. Voda care is shocking though, it's not care at all.

EE have own staff care, the only UK telco who does not outsource.

What plan is he on ?
What area does he cover ?

myself and other may be able to help with some advice

It can if 3 has the best signal - city dwellers forget it's not all about cheapest of all the networks, as the lady above is saying about her/his husbands signal^

People needs are all different, some like me needs tons of data so have remained on 3G, some need a specific network or reseller for signal, some yap yap yap, some text text, some still use a mobile for 2 mins or texts a month.

In comparison to Threes All in One plans for low users, low data users these payg bundles are a great deal cheaper than Three.

I know someone on ID monthly sim I sorted out by looking at their bills who needs Three coverage and usage is matched by a monthly sim (data 4GB), EE, Voda or o2 3G has no coverage indoors they pay £10 a month, if they needed more mins or could not get a monthly sim the £15 bundle above would cover them for £5 more - much cheaper than 3 payg or contract.

People don't want/get credit, kids, budgeting...of course I'm going to compare Three payg and it's resellers payg plans LOL

People sometimes stick to one network but resellers in that network.

I see ur point there. Are u aware some networks allow u to cap any chargeable calls text data I think 3 is one of them. I personally don't have 3 contract I just use what ever works out cheapest I had vectone for almost a year for calls they had free vectone to vectone calls for over 1 year and I think last month stopped the free calls. I don't use many minutes as most people use whatsapp these days so if it was data the three seems be cheapest at 8gb 600 mins utd text 13 quid and 4gb for 10 quid no doubt with quidco topcashback will be cheaper but these offers keep coming in and off so maybe best wait. for them on pay as you go there's other networks which offer 123 and there's the 1p network which isn't really a pay as you go which it says at it takes £5 a month off u wether u use it or not if u do use it then that is probably the cheapest pay as you go plan at moment.
