Seriously - do not waste your time with this. Unless you like rows and rows of trade stands all trying to flog you overpriced stuff you didn't want and didn't need.

Think a sort of indoor street market selling tacky stuff - that's all it is.

This is a heads up for the release date of the code, due out Thursday, as described. As soon as its released I'll add it in.

Horses for courses! I'm sure they'll have plenty queuing up at the door, and paying entry too.
I wouldn't even go for free. It's always rammed, full of tat and overpriced.

Same experience I had last year when I got free tickets from work. Traipsed round for a bit then realised they should be paying me to go so we went to a bar instead and made the most of the day in London!

That about sums it up. It’s a total non-event, and they should be paying people to go inside, waste their time, and become sitting targets for dodgy salespeople.
Thanks OP for the heads up

There used to be a free ‘goody bag’ but last year they made it conditional on you buying one the exhibition guides, which is basically an overpriced magazine full of ads.

None whatever. Believe me, it's a total con aimed at non-Londoners (they know all about it and won't go near it) and people who haven't been and think it's some sort of show about Ideal Homes. It's certainly not ideal, and it's got little to do with homes - except trying to sell you overpriced tat for your home that you don't need.
We have just completed a kitchen/dining renovation, went to the show 3 yrs in a row (free tickets of course!) Only thingIes got out of it are some free home magazines eg house beautiful /ideal home. But I can read them all free online now anyway. It has declined a lot in those years too. Still was a good excuse to get a babysitter and have a night out in town!

Yes
Yes, had freebies. I like looking at the new homes, outbuildings and ideas for decorating. If Ive bought anything, it's always at a knockdown price. If I see an idea/ product I want, then I check if there's a better online deal.

Same here. I do renovations, so I get ideas from there, take pictures, then come home and research. Usually find it a lot cheaper on the Internet.
Thanks for the heads up
Show maybe free.. but paid £16 @ NEC last year.. all for nothing

Probably like a great many others too. I don't go with any intention to buy. Free ticket, and I live in London too, so I've nothing to lose.

If you get free tickets it’s not a bad day out. We take sandwiches so we don’t have to pay the high price of the food-sellers at the show. The food and drink stalls area is great. You get a chance to try many of the food and drinks and there are sometimes good offer prices on sausages and cheese. Vitamin make up many samples of soup, ice cream and smoothies and their presenters are professional and friendly. That said the make-up and beauty areas are full of high price tat and I would avoid (if possible!). The other areas can give you some general ideas on home interiors allowing you to do your own research at home later.

Very well said, thank you. I go armed with something to eat too, and right there at the front for the samples

numbers keep declining every year, I think its papness is getting around or the disappearance of the free goody bag queue (there used to be 2, now its about buying the "guide" first.

translation anyone?

Nice try but no cigar, despite typos many managed to reply to my valid yet poorly worded question.. shame as the same cant be said for your ‘dig’... better luck showing up someone next time... pal
Thanks Op
Totally agree with what NewBold, I hate it but my Teen loves it especially for the food market.
