4 cell battery enough?
Is this good enough for video editing? Looking for a laptop that combines video editing capability with travel/lightweight build!
Nice laptop I wish they had the gold colour in stock

7th gen i5 should be okay with some video editing. Battery life should be around 6 hrs depends what you do so not bad also it looks easy to open up the back for any future upgrades etc

Weight of the laptop is also very attractive at 1.1kg

You need to know the rating in WHrs as the number of cells is too vague a metric as cells come in differnt capacities.

Any 15W U series CPU is not ideal for video editing although the very recently released 8 series now offer quad core with HT for 15W CPUs but not sure they are in the shops yet and prices will likely be high for quite a while.

enough for what?
If you have a student beans account there is a further discount which takes it down to 566.99 for the i5 and 680.84 for the i7. I have just bought the i7 for my son starting at Uni. He loves it, its very light and small with a good size screen and handles audio software well. The only down side is the battery life isn't great, but that's probably because he's using an awful lot of processing power in the audio work.
Tempted very tempted
Probably a silly question but would a Xiaomi air fingerprint 13 from China (LITB, Gearbest or?), be a better bet than this?
I bought one of the for my daughter its brilliant, light, fast and well made, battery life is only average though

On windows 10 the easiest way of extending battery life is by turning of background apps in the settings tab. It's hardly an android phone in which the apps need to pop up to tell you something is happening for most users this background app thing is an over kill, my laptop batter went up from around 4 hrs to 6 hrs with these changes.
Do your research before buying one - I got one two weeks ago and it had a significant problem with overheating and the fan constantly running. Tech Supporting couldn't solve it. When I researched it online on the forums, I realised that this was quite a serious issue with not only this model, but many models. Of course, you can manage to switch the fan off with third-party software, but I think the issue is deeper than that.
Oh, and Lenovo customer care is just awful. I really like the laptop, but I definitely would not buy it from them.

Think I'll wait to see some benchmarks on intels 8th Gen CPUs first.
This should have more heat.

Agree. My keywords are i5, i7 and laptop, so only found this by fluke. Heat!

Wondering the same. Battery life is biggest offput with the xiaomi air. Wish I could get the balls just to for it.

Yea, it's just the customs charge as lots of people do buy from there with no problems obviously.

I'm now looking at a Lenovo yoga from Argos and using Quidco for 5% cashback. Good battery life but a little bit heavier.

Not a great deal IMO. Same laptop as the bottom one was £599 last xmas. Should be the same price as this one.

No, I5 I think

That's about the same price now with cashbaack, £617.5 so not too bad, considering the pound has tanked.

Just seen that deal from xmas, better specs and from JL with two year warranty. Will I wait till xmas,
