Nice price drop on this Lenovo 720s. If you aren't familiar with this particular model, it's a 'feather light' ultrabook, with an Intel Core i5, 4K screen and 8GB of RAM

Be sure to use the code 'STYLISHPC' at checkout to get the reduced price.

I don’t agree, not for an ultra book with a 4K screen with a quad core cpu

All I see is $$$$ for the Marketing dept....
ultrabookreview.com/174…ew/

Mostly positive review.

Not bad screen if you don't mind glossy screen:
  • Panel HardwareID: AU Optronics AUO353D (B140HAN03.5);
  • Coverage: 96% sRGB, 70% NTSC, 75% AdobeRGB;
  • Measured gamma: 2.1;
  • Max brightness in the middle of the screen: 290 cd/m2 on power;
  • Contrast at max brightness: 860:1;
  • White point: 6300 K;
  • Black on max brightness: 0.34 cd/m2.

However may struggle using outdoor on the average screen brightness.

Yup! Just install the Netflix app and it'll play in 4K, bit buggy but you can also use the Web interface but you gotta use Edge :/.

This isn't aimed as a gaming laptop.

Portable/ultrastyle laptop aimed for on the move, watching video contents/ dealing with most undemanding applications and possibly some light art/creative work.

It's not cheap compared to standard size laptops, but need compare like for like really.

This is very bad question. It all depends on the size of the screen. On 5” screen 4k doesn’t make much sense unless you use it for vr. However, in bigger screens it really make sense. Maybe 4k is an overkiler for you 13” but it is better than fhd

Looking to get a decent laptop.Every time I look for laptops on UKHD it's full of people saying how terrible they all are, when will a decent one pop up on here and everyone says a great deal.

Doesn't need to be. Not even throwing in something entry level like the MX150 is seriously skimping on parts by Lenovo especially at £660. The Cuda architecture would have been useful for CC. As for portability, 2kg with the PSU isn't exactly light.

You're showing your lack of knowledge regarding the laptop market again. You can get 1050 based laptops for this price. Go have a Google and have a look at the previous HUKD threads.

There's a difference between a bad product, and a bad deal. Buy a Ford Fiesta for £30k and it's not a bad car. It's just a bad deal.

Well your knowledge would be great on here to post deals, I don't have a clue about all the specs and nor have the time to research. I just need a quick and reliable laptop that I can do what I want and have no issues. As my notebook makes me want to kill myself
Really like this but I’m after a 15” model

Just look at the previous HUKD threads - there have loads of i5/1050 based laptops for around £650. Just because you're not knowledgeable about laptops doesn't mean that they don't exist. Use the "Search Bar" at the top of the screen.

and not a single one of them relevant
which of them are 13inch 1.1kg ultraportables?
none? oh... and its my knowledge thats lacking
I have a 4k Laptop and the resolution difference is noticeable.

This reminds of those conversations that were had about 4k tv screens not being humanly observable under a certain size .

Best laptop screen I have ever worked with autocad looks really good

I told you to use the "Search" bar to search to the previous HUKD threads on here. Both the Air 12.5 and 13.3 for example are cheaper than this, lighter than this AND have an MX150 option for LESS than the price of this Lenovo.

you told me many things, laughed at it all
now you are topping that bringing in buying a laptop from china with no warranty and a big customs hit

(more than a little down on spec from that 1050 you were bigging up earlier as well as a good bit heavier and lower screen res etc)

Laptop manufacturers need to stop building machines with single channel memory. It cripples memory bandwidth on these processors, made worse by the fact that bandwidth and memory is shared by the integrated graphics.

Add a second module or flog the single and go with dual 4GB.

You totally miss the point of this laptop. Its an ultraportable with a long battery life - a discrete graphics card would destroy both of those features.
I felt like the luckiest person in the world when I bought my i5 530s for £450
Think people need to stop comparing gaming laptops and ultrabooks. This is an ideal machine for working out and about. Decent enough spec, nice and light good enough battery life and looks like a nice finish. I couldn’t go to a customers house with some of the gaming machines on here. Weighing in at 3.5-4kg and then you turn them on in your customers home and it sounds like someone has turned on one of those overpriced dysons always advertised on here. Then as your sitting with it on your knee you smell a burning and realise your brand new £29 Tesco business suit is on fire. So you leave your customers house with your back pulled out and third degree burns to your legs. Nope for out and about light business work this is ideal. I would have one (if I wasn’t waiting, possibly in vain for a good xps deal) nice machine
This or the Dell Inspiron (5000) 13 with 8th gen i7 at same price? Ignore the price on the link, it’s on the web page for £659 somewhere; dell.com/en-…009
4k screen!?
Great price.

I ordered it this morning for £749.99 as it's been reduced from £800 and I thought a £50 saving is good now this codes takes it down even further.

I have just placed a new order, let's hope I can get the other cancelled have sent over an email.

Paid via Paypal for them both.

Thanks OP
Great price for first class specs
What next ...

An 11 Inch Ultrabook, with a 4K screen too perhaps?.

What's going on people?, lol

'4K content', possibly on a Laptop, with preferably a minimal of a 15.6 Inch - 17.1 Inch Laptop, etc? (or 19 Inch/21+ Inch Monitor or something?).

But on a 13 Inch/13.3 Inch screen?.

I have a 14 Inch Lenovo YOGA Laptop I bought last Year Black Friday/Cyber Monday time ...

(And have used it pretty much extensiveness ever since!).

But I can swear blind (no off-key puns intended), that, in allllllll those many times I've used it (including for a few hours earlier on also - and only just put it down less than 30 minute's ago too), I've never once noticed any lack of RICH screen clarity? (even though mine is only HD!).

And that still remains the case whether I use it as a normal HD Laptop, or whether I prod the tell out of the glass screen when I'm using it as either a touchscreen Laptop, or as a Tablet ... (or in some cases both?!).

So, to be honest, I doubt I'll have the foggiest of clues as to what the hell to do with any '4K anything' upon a 14 Inch screen even? (yet alone an arguably/notably smaller one?!).

Unless I'm honestly missing a trick here?, lol.
