If you own a Sony mirrorless camera (a600or 5000 series) this is one of the MUST have lenses. I bought this a couple of years ago and it's magnificent. Try finding a bad review for it!

MUST HAVE A LENS

great review
It even is a great portrait lens. It's brilliant.
I just wish there was a good deal on the a6300 at the moment, I seemed to have missed out by around a month.

John Lewis Cheadle branch had the body only for £629 so £429 after Sony cashback
Good 'ole cashback...

MUST HAVE A LENS great review

This lens comes into it's own as a much needed sharp wide angle on APS-C Sony not so much micro four thirds where it's fast and sharp but ultimately a meh 32mm lens.

Yeah. Sony only. Agreed

Completely OOS only, was this recently?
Unless you want 4k video the a6000 is incredible value.

Or a5100 depending on the price and what you use it for.
If I remember correctly, it's the same sensor and AF system. Essentially you're trading off physical controls and faster burst capture on the a6000, for a flip up screen and smaller form factor on the a5100.
a5100 + Sony 35mm 1.8 = jacket pocket sized goodness

(all that said, I sit here considering the sigma lens at which point the size benefit will be utterly irrelevant with that beast attached! )

Yes, but the 11fps on the 6000 is REALLY handy for animals, children or anything that moves fast!
Will it fit the A7 III?

Very true!

No. Well, technically I believe it fits the mount, but it'll be cropping the sensor which would be a waste!

Hold on for prime day. I picked up my a6300 on prime day and added the Sony cashback, so it was very cheap. They also reduced it on black Fri, so basically I'd bet the a6300 goes on offer again.

Yeah. The A7 line can use crop lenses and use the middle part of the sensor only. So yeah, sort of a waste, but then crop lenses are cheaper and smaller.
been this price for a couple of weeks
needs 'camera' tag and/or 'camera lens'

It will fit but you will see the inside of the barrel in your images

physical controls, evf, hotshoe, massively improved menu usage, custom buttons
pics aren't any better though! (and haven't really been for years before or since)
Spam is a bit harsh. Why don't you think it's a good deal? Can you point me towards a better one please? Thanks...

if i had already posted it then spam would not be harsh it would be accurate...
but as i didn't then its not spam ofc

its an ok deal, less than 10% off the regular uk 390 selling price
So, you COULD say it's currently the best deal.

It doesn’t look like amazon have stock at the moment either, I’m hoping they get some in and have it priced somewhere near the £650-£700 mark with the lens.

No need to be snarky
Different folk have different appetite for going further afield, just throwing it out there. Plenty of people (myself included) have ordered plenty of times with eglobal, toby deals etc, with no issues. Just use paypal or CC if concerned about no show or dead on arrival. Yes I'd much rather deal with Amazon if something goes wrong 6 months down the line, but that's a choice people need to make up front when there's a £75 price difference.

Also, take trust pilot with a pinch of salt, happy customers are unikly to go out of their way to leave reviews. Amazon themselves don't come out much better; uk.trustpilot.com/rev…com
Sorry! John Lewis gets 1 now or something. I've probably ordered from importers before without realising. Things rerely go wrong with stuff but I'd be more worried about the wait and actually getting it!
