thnx been looking for something like this, will be the 3rd app I've ever bought!

Got it, thanks!

Will give this a go and compare to my usual apps: FileMagnet, Dropbox and Evernote

does this have a desktop application as well, like dropbox to access between multiple computers( not the wesbite access) dropbox was free I use it quite a lot

what's the usual price?

Cheers, purchased.

@blackjack

There's no external application as far as I know, but using this app you can mount your iPhone as external hard drive on Mac OS and Windows. There are instructions with screenshots in app help.

Dropbox is free up to 2GB. You might also consider iPhone Explorer (lifehacker.com/546…ive)

in order to say access a video stored on the app on the iphone, does the computer have to be on?

If you transfer music/video files to your iphone can you them play them or does this have to be done via itunes?

Original Poster

@piloteer81

This App can play audio/video files, however this files won't show up in iPod App. You have to use iTunes to add media to iPod on iPhone or Music App on iPod Touch.

@vialli25

There might be some problems with your Wi-Fi network, maybe you've got firewall. Try looking on ]iFiles support forums.

Also I just noticed that if you are using Snow Leopard it will ask you for login and password even if you didn't set up iFiles to require authentication.

Did you mean "]FileViewer"?

It does seem that many of these utilities exist.

I found "]File Sharing" was very similar whilst having a brief look just now.

This costs £1.19 at present though. (]Direct link for iTunes)

BFN,

fp.

got it too, very professional. like it.

There's a lot of bad reviews about "File Sharing" saying when updating people are losing all their data. Others say the developers release different versions called "pro" instead of making updates which need to be bought even if you bought the original version.

Worth a punt for 59p, ta.

I know I'm going to sound stupid, but how do I copy files from my Mac onto iFiles?

@sam18

There is a help section in App that explains how to do it. Basically you have 2 options, either mount it as external drive or connect via web browser.

Still on sale for 59p
