Really good deal here. Too bad I already own 3 full HD monitors....buying another one would probably getting me into looking somewhere to move as I cannot explain my wife why would I need a fourth one....

I am sure that means nothing to any wife in the world

I reckon I could swap this with my current monitor without it being noticed....

Is there a difference between free-sync and g-sync

I believe freesync is for amd graphics cards and g-sync is Nvidia

I have Nvidia card so looking for G-Sync

Nvidia enabled support for free-sync a while back you just need to enable it within the nvidia driver

Enabling freesync on Nvidia GPU

I had no idea! Are there any disadvantages?

AFAIK there isn’t much in it you just need 10 series card or newer, has to be done via display port and you’ll need a bigger wallet for all that money saved not buying a G-Sync branded screen...

Thanks for sharing this info.

I'm not sure if it'll change my decision when upgrading but it's certainly good to know.
Ordered, thanks for that. Outa curiosity I can I use my existing 1080p monitor as a second extended display or will the resolutions be an issue?
Oh man. This is really tempting me.

I have a (very similar) 24.5" 1080p 60Hz iiyama Blackhawk monitor.

This has a
-bigger screen
-better resolution
-faster refresh rate (but I need to check compatibility as I'm on a 1060 6GB and although Nvidia have 'unlocked' freesync support, not all monitors work)

3 weeks till payday..... and also when I move house 😬
