Can't believe this hasn't been posted already...

EXPEDIT is usually somewhere in the region of £50 but currently they are reduced to just £29. That is a fab price for one of these. Ok, they're really common but they're good strong units, and Habitat sell something that looks very similar for about 10 times the price. Fab for kids bedrooms and simple to build up (or if you're more adventurous you can adapt the sizes of the cubes to make some rectangles!).

Available in birch, white or black/brown. It is only the unit that's 4 squares by 2 squares that's this price, although there were also reductions on other LACK items to match when I was instore yesterday at Leeds.

Stands vertically or horizontally. Can be fixed to the wall if you've got kids likely to pull it over on themselves or if you want to use as a room divider. Holds 12" vinyl & A4 files.

Available in-store at this price at all Ikea branches except Edinburgh & Cardiff (I think because they're franchised?)

Btw, we have two of these laid lengthways (4 wide x 2 high) and one has our 37" LCD TV on it (not showing off or anything, just to give you an idea of what sort of weight it can hold!!!).

Really good, looks nice and a great finish. The first one we bought is still solid a year and a half on, spaces are filled with 4 full boxes of stuff and 4 shelves of DVDs, not fixed to the wall. Bargain for those that need furniture!
thank you

oh i would sooooooooooooooooo buy those baskets too with the book case! sigh!

I got the IKEA Family email a few days after buying a second one of these … I got the IKEA Family email a few days after buying a second one of these but can't be bothered to take it back as IKEA isn't that close...Btw, IKEA Fmily members could buy one of the following boxes at the same time as this bookcase and get 2 free. Yes, that's buy one get two free!Knipsaor Kottebo baskets (32cm x 32xm only), only available with the 4x2 bookcase. To get this you need to print the vouchers from the IKEA Family email sent on January 16th. Click the link to the vouchers in the email and it shows your vouchers with a bar code and the card holders name and card number on them, so if you aren't already a member and already getting the emails then I'm afraid there doesn't seem to be an easy way to get this bonus extra! Vouchers valid until end of Feb.

I never got that email, think they have put my email in their server wrong. I get the mail shots but not for a while. Could you possibly you put the image on here please?

Buy another one now and take it back later with the old receipt?

edit - sorry , this has already been said hasn't it?
Perfect for vinyl! - Loads of people I know use these at various heights and combine them to make vinyl storage and a deck stand.

I negociated space for a 4x1 Expedit, not sure I could wangle the space for a 4x2 one - REALLY want one though so I can feed the vinyl addiction!
Just what i need for my daughters room , but they want £35.00 delivery !!!!!

Do you not have an Ikea near to you so you could go and collect? I would not advise ikea delivery unless you are planning on making a large order which would off-set the £35.00
I know ikea is nothing special, but I would rather shop there for furniture than Argos any time. I hate that place. Last desk I got from there was like a bowl of jelly, wobbled all the time, and was of poor quality. Was not impressed. This was a good few years ago, maybe they have cleaned up their act. :-D
Can't believe it - I just bought one of these at the weekend at £49. Might have to pick up another then nip around to customer returns with the old receipt if I'm passing.

They are pretty good - we've got three in our house. Great storage for the kids bedrooms... and yes... ideal for vinyl.
Got one last week at full price.
Great value at this price.
Voted hot.
Gutted - as Cardiff is my nearest - I've looked on the site and the price comes up as £29 - I cant seem to see that Cardiff aren't doing the offer - might give them a ring to check - any body bought it in Cardiff?????

I've heard rumours of people running businesses where they go and collect the items you want from IKEA and build them for you - if anybody knows of any of these, partiularly in Cardiff or Edinburgh, it might be useful for others! Try Googling to see if you can find any...

You can only do it if you're an IKEA Family member and you got the email from them, as the coupon has your name/card number printed on it... Might be worth phoning customer services to see if you could get one?
I need something similar but not exactly this.
It is a great price and the product would fit what I wanted it to do pretty much.
As a non-driver the price of £35.00 for delivery is a bit steep though and another solution will present itself.

Hot though
ah right thanks
anyone considering home delivery be carefull as aside from the cost there also the chance the items will be damaged, ive placed four orders in the past and three of those times its arrived with dents/chips in, however returns/replacements are easily arranged although you may have to wait
I usually quite like Ikea as they are quite unique and different... however Ikea can be quite pricey though cant always afford what id like....however I do like the squares Deffinately voted HOT HOT HOT!!! You can put a unit like that any where in the house really so i like !!!!
I'm sure you could buy wood for cheaper and make it yourself. Cold

best to attach any cabinet to a wall no matter how sturdy it appears

waste of time unless you live nearby, can take 3 hours to return something, plus travel time....if i had to return something to ikea, i wouldnt bother

:-D Ha ha!

(You are being funny, right?)

If anyone tries it, please please please send me photos/videos - I love a good laugh!

With returns: I usually go to Leeds Ikea and try and time it to arrive between 4.30 and 5.30pm - the people who've been there through the day have gone home, and the people arriving after work haven't pitched up yet. Walked straight into returns the other day at 5ish, and was the only person there. Nightmare on weekends though.

I know what you mean, it can be horrific. But, this time it was very quick. Went on Friday around lunchtime and while I went to get the refund my girlfriend joined the queue for the hotdogs and I was served first!
