Good price - always worth pointing out ikea don't do standard UK sizes so all your bedding and mattress will have to be European too

I have an ikea bed double bed, all bedding and mattress are uk standard just means there is a bit of room down the sides for my remote!

Double bed size is 207 cm long by 147 cm wide so seems roughly same as UK double (range from 202 to 247 long x 145-148 wide).

Peter, standard UK double mattress is 137cm / 54" wide
King size ( sometimes called, confusingly, Queen size) is about 6" wider- approx 152cm / 60"
Continental sizes are typically a bit different, but not so much that you can't make your bed frame/ mattress/ bedding more or less fit UK stuff if you need to

as far as I remember online price:includes slatted bed base but in store you have to buy it separate so that's why in store says £39...(plus £16 bed base)

Nope - price includes slats. Come in 3 packs, one basic frame £19, and two slat packs at £10 each - £39 total for the bed. I've bought it so I know this is correct

As you've purchased and I'd have to make a trip of getting it can you tell me how tall from floor to the bottom of the frame it is. I've got under bed boxes and hoping they would fit under a this if I pick it up as a replacement for my old knackered frame. I quite like the simplicity of it.

Drat, it's about 8.5inches to the tops of the boxes. Shoots that idea in the foot. Thanks anyway. Back to the drawing board.

We'll now, don't shoot it down yet. They will fit, you just have to lift the bed a little (no more than an inch) when you want to get the boxes in/out

Funny you should say that as after sleeping on it I've decided I'll get it anyway and be done with the problem and make it work even if I have to buy new boxes. The saving over the next alternative bed I planned to get will make it still good value even after buying boxes.

Thanks OP. I picked a frame up, went into the store and fell in love with the Tarva one, a little more solid looking than the Fjellse in my opinion. A pain to put together however.

Just got to source a matress I like now. Does anyone have a kingsize frame from ikea with a UK mattress? Just a little worried about the whole 10cm difference between the two and cant see any comparison shots of similar frame to mine. I did find one at Ikea I liked but it would have been an impossible ask to fit it in the car so just trying to work out the best plan of action.

IKEA sizes are now standard UK Sizes
