IKEA Framtid Oven £149 with 5 YEAR GUARANTEE

Current oven has just about given up and, while I would LOVE to be able to afford a full new kitchen, this won't happen for a few years so a new, cheap oven is required.

Was going to stump up £130 for a very basic indesit model at Comet, but spotted this at Ikea today. Ok, so it's not one of the big names, and it is basic, but a 5 year gurantee takes some beating at this price range.

Looks like a new price for the oven (previously over £200), rather than an end of line deal.

Ah, cool beans, even beter then.

forgot to say most Ikea ovens say hard wired only - but they will indeed go on a plug (ours did when fitted by our spark) and its working fine...

Most fan ovens will run off an existing ring, and a plug is fine.

It's when you start changing the hob that you need to make sure you are using 6mm cable etc.

Always read the manual though.

Plus £35 delivery if you can't or won't collect from one of their diminishing number of shops.

Good deal, but I would go for a fan oven nowdays.

Cold. Why? Smögen is why.

Xdaminis if you read the description it is a fan oven. Says, cooling fan to protect from overheating, so one would assume a fan oven.

Picked one up today and it is fan assisted.

is the cooker any good then gav, thinking of picking one up, and does it have to be hard wired or not

Hi, its comes with a cable so I just put a plug on it, like our old one was. It seem ok, its definitely not the quality you would get from one that's a few hundred quid. But we're happy and it comes with an Ikea 5 year part and labour warranty.

So the fan runs when in basic oven mode? Any idea what the difference between "cooling fan" and "forced air" is on the dearer models? I assume fan strength, maybe.

Had a look at them today in store and while they are very basic they seem pretty solidly built. Might fit my immediate needs. Ovens get so dirty I would rather change a cheap one every few years than get a dear one and have it pro cleaned.
