Not wanting to be picky, but there are no details given of how you obtain these freebies. Hardly a megathread at the minute lol

When you register with the retailer you put your Birthday !!!!, these retailers then send you these presents.. so £10.00 worth of free spend vouchers that I have received already. Money for nothing and that goes down well here usually.
I can't see anything on the Ikea website about the birthday £5 and I've been a member for about 5 years and not had anything. OP can you post a link or paste relevant ikea text? ta.

I've had a family card for years and no emails about this. Do you get an email notification?
Agree with Scoffer1 - many restaurant chains (Jamie's Italian, Prezzo, Bella Italia, Zizzi, etc) offer a free bottle of Prosecco (or similar) as a 'birthday treat' when dining, for those already registered. Others - Las Iguanas, Zizzi, Damons - offer a free "main" to the Birthday person.
I never give my real D.o.B., but hey, we only have 1 birthday a year!
Free milkshake at Kaspas (id required)
The below as well apart from what has already been listed. Another tip also is when signing up to these sites once you see birthday deals you actually do make avail off is to use different email address and set date to be when around when you do your Christmas shopping, with Allbeauty I've it set for before Fathers day and Christmas (my partners Birthday was before Mothers day anyhow). I always go on holiday the week of my birthday so they where never much use to myself!

AllBeauty - 10% off
Columbus Direct (bought holiday insurance off them once) - 20% off
House of Fraser - Double points for reward card during entire month.
Reebok - 15% off code but only on full price items

Recent article in the Telegraph says that only three items of information are needed to steal your identity- your name, address, and birthdate. The last is the only one that you cannot change. I have carefully kept my true birthday off of all social media sites. Once it is out there, you can never get it back.

Yes, that works too, for those with forbearance. I meant it as an example. Unnecessarily giving your details to commercial sites (that we frequently hear of being hacked) is also risky.

So just give a false birthday date...they won't know!

Hence: "I have carefully kept my true birthday off of all social media sites."

I had assumed that I would not be required to explain that electing not to supply my true birthdate implies that I might on occasion supply a false one, but this site continues to surprise.

Aah, assuming...you should know where that gets us! No real need to be coy or cryptic on this site, just say it as it is...people may appreciate the clarity (_;)

I don't owe any special effort to the unsophisticated. Those who cannot read for comprehension may reveal their lack or keep it dark.
