Applied at checkout, doesn't show beforehand

I've just ordered some more rechargable batteries from IKEA and a 3 for 2 popped up when I went to checkout. Think it needs a family card but they're easy to get. Great time to stock up before the Christmas battery nightmare begins!

3x LADDA AAA 2450mAh £16
3x LADDA AA 750mAh £10

This seems to be an unlisted/unadvertised offer, i can't find it in the Family offers section so I can't provide any further details or links.

Update: My order just arrived, for those wondering the batteries are all marked Made in Japan

Would these be the enloop I.e. Good ones?

Never bought IKEA batteries before but heard they are rebranded versions of the enloop ones?

    I believe so:
The AA LADDA 1900 are the regular eneloops (lower capacity and are rated for 1000 cycles)
The AA LADDA 2450 are the eneloop pros (higher capacity, but are only rated for 500 cycles)

Just a final update after a few days. These seem to be exactly what they claim to be in terms of capacity, i.e. the claimed 2450mAh is correct as shown on my smart charger. I also like that these go up to near enough 1.5v when fully charged as some devices will not work with rechargable batteries that hang around 1.2-1.3v when fully charged.

Its also worth noting that as with any rechargables, you are better to slow charge them if you want to get the full lifespan, in this case charging them around 300mAh. Takes a while, but definately better for the battery health/life.

I am pleased with my purchase.51483229-h96U1.jpg

Does your charger allow you to select the charging current or do you restrict it with the power supply?

For persons who don't know ladda = eneloop
    beezneez's avatar
Technically they have a slightly different profile and are distinguishable, but yeah same factory pretty much.

The link text is wrong, AA goes to AAA and vice versa

Does anyone know if these work in Tado stuff?
    Joshimitsu91's avatar
Just picked some up, I'll try them when I get in and let you know.

EDIT: They fit fine, exact same size as Eneloops. (edited)

The batteries are great but not the chargers. Mine was DOA.
  7. DistortedVision's avatar
Can anyone confirm if they are still made in Japan or are now made in China.
    Joshimitsu91's avatar
Just picked some up - made in Japan

Has this expired ? Showing £24 for me even at checkout
    LordHippos's avatar
You need IKEA family thing for it to work, did you add that?
  9. JorelJ's avatar
These are great batteries. The charger on the other hand is super-slow. Takes about at least 4 hours to charge 4xAA batteries.
    LadyEleanor's avatar
Yes, but that way guarantees very low deterioration.

When does the offer expire please?

Based on this, I don't think that the charger shown in the picture is included in the promotion

Great deal OP. Might just stock up. See you can mix and match though 2 x AA and 1 AAA just gives £5 off. Your links above AA is AAA and vice versa. No biggie.
    Joshimitsu91's avatar
It's 3 for 2 that's why... AAA are £5 and they are free if you order 2 lots of AA as well.
  16. polo321's avatar
I had bought the Ladda batteries AA 2450 and 1900 a few weeks ago can confirm made in Japan
  17. meinnit's avatar
Collect from DPD shop is £2
    jerrysimon's avatar
That option disappears if you log in to family account
  18. rjc222's avatar
i was told these were the same as Panasonic's Eneloops but they last no where near as long in an Xbox controller
    kshade's avatar
They used to be rebadged Eneloops (I'm thinking maybe rejects?) but the supplier changed sometime back so its not the same deal it once was...

Is this definitely available in store?

Should be, apparently the offer is advertised in store but if you’re planning on making a trip why not buy online for in-store collection?

Cracking deal, Ikea batteries are great. Heat heat heat (edited)
    r9000's avatar
Indeed, they are relabelled Eneloop cells, made in Japan. The best available.

I prefer these to alkaline, not just for environmental reasons but because they don't leak. It's just a shame a few of my devices don't work with the slightly lower voltage of NiMH cells, 1.2V instead of 1.5V.
  21. DJ8's avatar
Cheers, ordered a load for work and home - had to make 2 separate orders as you get the cheaper ones free. As long as order value is £60 before discount, delivery is free.
Managed to get a further 5% discount buying an instant gift card via my wife's Tesco Staff discount.
    £48.40 saved.
  22. Singa's avatar
Thanks - I ordered the AAA ones and had them delivered to the local shop. They are made in Japan. Good deal. Thanks.
    jerrysimon's avatar
Yep picked up mine too. AAA and larger capacity AAs , as you say made in Japan. Will be able to compare them to my Eneloops 🤪 (edited)
  23. crazybot482's avatar
Thanks OP. Worked for me. More batteries are always handy at Christmas time 🎄
  24. Arkz's avatar
Cheers, got 8 of the 1900mAh cells and the 5 quid charger.
  25. jerrysimon's avatar
Thanks I have 8 Eneloop 1900s purchased 2018 which are still going strong. Hopefully these are the same so I’ve purchased 8 + 4 free added postage £4 total £14 (edited)
    rupeeman's avatar
I had the same. I have had 4 stop charging. Red light flashing. I had barely used them as 10 -15 cycles of recharge

They are Ladda AAA 900 ( white) now they sell 750mAh models only (edited)
  26. thechief's avatar
    Ordered - Thank OP

Ordered 2 x 4 pack with charger for £10 + £4 delivery. Winner thanks! (edited)
    t9m's avatar
    Am I missing something? Isn't that £20 + £4 delivery?
  28. cheapnnasty1's avatar
Shows £4 for home delivery so the £5 saving is only £1
  29. McMike's avatar
If you mix and match like I tried, it discounts the cheapest battery. So 3 x 2450 pack and 3 x 1900 pack bills as 3 x 2450 pack and 1 x 1900 pack. I guess you could order twice and pay two lots of shipping.
    ImGroot's avatar
Same at the shop till. Had to bill separately. I think it was the charger that created problem.

    IKEA laddaAA:
    article nr: 505.046.92
    AAA:Not available

These appear similar to the Pro version of Eneloops. There is no product code besides its article number. Made in Japan definitely indicates FDK factory, as there is only one LSD NiMH factory in Japan. It isn’t clear what generation they are. Dark gray colored.

These appear similar to the first gen Eneloop version. There is no product code besides its article number. Made in Japan definitely indicates FDK factory, as there is only one LSD NiMH factory in Japan. Looking at the specifications they look like the 1st gen Eneloops (same as the blue Fujitsu). The article number seems to be different per country? I also noticed 005.098.14

    Specifications:

1900mAh, 1000 cycles for AA, 750mAh for AAA. No indication of remaining charge after X years.

I've invested in eneloops over the past few years, taking advantage of offers when they pop up. But if I knew for certain these IKEA cells were re-branded eneloops, I'd be all over them!
Anyone know for sure if that rumour is true?
    jaizan's avatar
I don't know, but there are sources claiming there is only one rechargeable battery factory in Japan, which if true, would mean they are at least made in the same plant. Which is not quite like saying they are the same.

There are also reports of some Ikea batteries now being Made in China. I wouldn't touch those.

For some reason the AA 2450mah versions aren't reducing in price? Anyone else have this issue? 1900 version works fine
  38. avz108's avatar
Would the Amazon basi charger work for this?
    jerrysimon's avatar
Should be ok just avoid fast charging them if you want to get the 500-1000 cycles out of them.
  39. jerrysimon's avatar
Hoping these are Eneloop equivalents just ordered some AAAs as well now in addition to my AAs 2450s as well. Bargain £12 for 12 including £2 DPD pickup
