There's no such thing as a free....
Too lazy to check, is the cost of the lunch taken off the bill or something?

Saw that as I walked in today sadly though the failed to say the store was to shut at 6pm and the restaurant close at 17:30. Alas I got nothing sadly. :-(

I do find there rolls a tad hard. The bread needs a pound of butter to soften it

Hmm.. with both these free food offers, I could imagine 'some' people spending entire days at Ikea, so look at it as compensation for spending time participating in a riot within a Tardis ...

When you say 50% off most things do you mean 50% off most things they sell? Or 50% off the things in the sale?

Go to the IKEA site - select your store and then select SALE from the left menu.

As the offer isn't due to start until 26/12/10, you wouldn't have got any free food prior to 5.30pm today, I'd imagine.

And it's only available until 11am

So, apart from the restaurant being shut, the offer not having started yet and it being after the offer finish time, are there any other reasons sotomonkey didn't get one? X)

15 items more than 50% off. 28 in total reduced. Not really a sale given how much they sell. And most of it is folders and candles. I was hoping bedroom furniture would be reduced.

Ikea sale - Welcome to Hell...

They are wrong about all of those steps. It should read:

1. Arrive at the store after spending best part of an hour in traffic because everybody had the same idea to come out on boxing day.
2. Enjoy the offers as much as you can. Try not to let the screaming kids and general pandemonium ruin your day.
3. Eat free lunch. After joining the back of the queue at the other end of the restaurant and standing with tray of food in your hand until free seats become available.
4. Go home stressed to hell because the car is now laiden with a wardrobe which now prevents the boot from closing properly.

What is it with all these, sale starts next week blar blar threads.
Not really a deal is it !

You need prior warning if travelling to ikea. It's not exactly as common as your local argos...

Last years Ikea sale, was all damaged goods. Or old toot, that no one else wanted.

Ikea have the worst sales ever oO

successful stratergy (used by me):
1. Enter via the exit/customer returns department, with stock numbers
2 Check availabilty of the pre web-searched items on the PC's available within the 'customer warehouse'
3. Depart, via cashier.

It was definitely on today in my local Ikea, advertised quite prominently as you walked in, Those dates were not on the ad, so I assumed today (or rather yesterday) was the only day they were running this offer. I stopped to look at it for a while. It specified in the small print that you had to make it clear to the person at the till about the offer to quality so I'm puzzled why it's not in that advertisement. The advertisement I saw had no images on it though.

what a load of crap they have on sale in the glasgow shop. this has to be worst attempt at a xmas sale i have ever seen.

u all should be ashamed of yourselfs for voting this deal hot.

only reason i can think of is that you all voted on the strength of the free food voucher, which has been posted already btw

Was at the 'sale preview' days for Family Card members at Edinburgh. Poor sale, 10% off here, 10 % off there. Nothing stunning and what's been reduced further's stuff that they can't get rid of.

STAMPEDE!!!

For some unknown reason. Have fun. Im waiting until it dies down to even bother going near it. Best buy for me lol. Wish Sony still did the old day sales where they had 1 per customer things like a tv reduced by 80%. Sales just arent what they used to be!

Why oh why ruin your xmas holiday and go to Ikea !!!!!

Oh thanks, just what I need is to see you lot on Boxing day crammed into the Southampton Ikea looking for a rare bargain.

Do the Daily Telegraph work this site?!

50% off most items

50% off most items in store, or 50% off most sale items?

IKEA is like a trip to Narnia for me.....The Crying, the b*tch and that wardrobe.

donnamatrix

Exactly, you don't know what you're going to get so everyone still piles in thinking that they might be able to replace their kitchen for a tenner; when in fact you let your nearest and dearest fill that big yellow sack with complete tat for £1 a pop and at the till you get mugged when it's all added up.

You know why Ikea sell hot dogs and drinks at the exit? - so you can get rid of the bad taste in your mouth when you get robbed at the checkout.

People always have the same misconception about the IKEA winter sale!

The only things that will be reduced are discontinued items that IKEA wants rid of!
