Picked one of these up for £6 and was very imperesed given the 2 usb's both output 1A, which is more than suffice for most peoples needs?

Splits the 12V in-car power source four ways
Two 12v sockets providing dual power source
Two USB sockets for portable electronics
Includes a high current socket for cigarette lighter use

Sold via a marketplace seller, but a perfectly acceptable one by HUKD standards?

oops lol,

If you have an Aldi nearby, they have 3 x 12v and 2 x USB's for £2.99

will have to check out aldi before ordering this one then, ideal for charging the phone

Will this definately charge my Blackberry Torch as the one I bought from Poundland does not, probably due to too little current? Same poundland one doesn't recharge my Satnav either. (this is using the correct USB cables for the devices, which of course differ as BB ain't standard mini USB)

No guesses please only concrete results.

on these items the usb charging part is only 500m amps.

I know this isn't it, but I want something to use the Cigarette Lighter to plug my laptop into. What is it that I need?

I'm not really an expert on this, but i think you need to buy a power inverter with at least an 85 watt rating, plug it into your cigarette lighter and plug your laptop into it.

Your car is not capable of supplying the proper voltage or amperage to charge your laptop without a power inverter.

as for inverter you need minimum 150watt the85 watt no good for laptop i have one.you can buy a 12 volt charger from maplin around £15 to £20 to charge a laptop or look online might be cheaper.
