Mac Mini i7 quad core which I fancied but didn't want the faff with ordered-upon-request from Dabs (which is still over 300 degrees) because these are discontinued and hence a risk. For £6 more from a reputable Apple reseller and over 100 in stock when I spoke to them.
Upgradeable unlike new range and free Yosemite download.
Yes I know the specs suck compared to what you can get for a PC for the same money. Yes I know one of the inferior new models is cheaper. If those're your thing then this deal is not for you. However, I believe this might be the best price for these IN STOCK and selling out fast everywhere - that makes it a deal if you're in the market for one!

Storage: 1TB SATA

It is superior to the 2014 crippled versions.
Just can't justify the upgrade right now...
Thank you for putting up this deal.
So nearly ordered from them last night as well. Dammit.
depends on what your using it for! I had a 2012 i5 mac mini and have a 2012 imac i7...converting video was about half the time on the i7 but in general day to day usage (including basic games like football manager) I noticed no difference...mainly as both (mac minis) have HD4000 and Mac OS works fine on 4GB...had 8GB in both and again no noticeable difference....if your a power user you will defo notice the i7 increase for video editing etc though.
Thank you for taking the time to reply and sorry for my vague question! I meant to say that the main thing it will be doing is running Plex Media Server. It will only ever be encoding for 1 client. That said, your mentioning video editing makes me think that this is something I may want to do in the future. Thanks for the great comparison, much appreciated.
I didn't 'really' need to upgrade to an i7 mini, but with Apple gimping the 2014 model I think these are going to be well sort after.
To the OP, I think the way you worded your comment in the DABS deal is the reason for some of the cold votes. Nevertheless I've voted hot as it is the cheapest available deal for an instock 2012 i7 Mac mini.
