Great price for this, beating Amazon's recent deal too. Got to say, Base's prices (at least in the Blu-ray section) are really good - plenty of deals to be had. Prices do tend to go up & down often though.

Blockbuster sci-fi thriller written and directed by Christopher Nolan. Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a professional thief with a difference: the spoils he goes after are not material objects but the thoughts, dreams and secrets buried in the minds of other people. This rare talent has cost him dear, rendering him a solitary fugitive stripped of everything he ever really cared about. When he is offered a chance for redemption by reversing the process and planting an idea rather than stealing it, he and his team of specialists find themselves pitted against a dangerous enemy that appears to pre-empt their every move. The film won four Academy Awards for its special effects, sound and cinematography.

Fantastic price for the steelbook! Is the 'Premium Collection' banner at the top part of the design though?

Cannot believe they bothered to release a Steelbook for this X) , one of the most ludicrous attempts at a film ever (quite good viewing for laughs though, if in the mood) -

I bought the Heat one not long ago, the Blue part (inc Premium collection text) is just a cover, a piece of card, that needs to be removed to open the case.

Should look just like this -

I have this and as op said the banner forms part of the data slip

Great, thanks guys! That would have been a deal breaker.

Apparently, you get a discount if you pay with this:

They could re-enact this entire film live in my garden and I still wouldn't watch!

Some hilarious clips on Youtube, don't think I realised just how stupid it was back when I was a kid!

Just be aware that unfortunately the Inception steelbook lacks the separate bonus features disc which comes with some of the regular editions.

I don't usually give out candy for breakfast but with such a great deal im going to make an Inception ... I mean exception

Last time I ordered a steelbook from Base it was in a flimsy cardboard envelope and was lucky not to be dented. Anybody know if Base still do this or have they invested in proper packaging. They regularly have good steelbook prices but I don't want to risk it if it's still the envelope.

Good stuff! Worth reviewing again for the plot....

The 5.1 version of the score tracks is a fantastic add-on for anyone with a good surround system. Zimmer scores in surround are just amazing.

Don't really rate Zimmer. BWAAAAAAAHHH...fidgetty strings... BWAAAAAHHHH

It was nice at first but now EVERY trailer/film seems to use something similar it's gotten so boring to me

Inception is a great film though

Agreed, the quality of the Dark Knight blu-ray was fantastic for one.

It's back up to £10.69 now.

The Inception trailer music was by Zack Hemsey Love that track.

BWAAAH!

Zimmer has done some fine scores (Gladiator and The Dark Knight spring to mind, but I also like Days of Thunder), but I agree that sometimes his output can be quite variable. When he did Dark Knight Rises without James Newton Howard, it ended up a real disappointment...along with the rest of the film

That has nothing at all to do with Zimmer's Inception soundtrack. The BWAAA thing is actually Mind Heist, by Zack Hemsey, which was used (and eternally copied) in the trailer. The Zimmer score is far more sublime and dreamy.

I did not know this!

Gladiator has an awesome soundtrack, I love it. I've just realised he did the score for Man of Steel too, which I thought was really great and fitted in with the 'different' way they presented the character (could you imagine how weird it would have been if they'd have kept John Williams' original Superman theme for that film?!).

But I'm not a fan of the score for any of the Nolan bat-films, especially TDKR's monotonous, loud, dumb, drum-heavy score. I love the first two movies but TDKR was just an all around disappointment for me - maybe I had just hyped myself up for it too much but I found it to be long, dull and predictable.

Batman Begins and TDK certainly subscribe to the LOUUUUUDDDD TRUMPEEEETT fidgetty strings aesthetic though, in my opinion at least. It's boring. I saw some documentary on a Batman Begins DVD about how the score was supposed to be 'half baked' or something because Batman himself wasn't fully formed at this point. I can get aboard with this idea, but then they never changed it to make it more 'complete' or fill it out more for TDK...

...they should have just used the nanananananananana batmaaaan theme though, amiright?

Agree with your thoughts on Dark Knight Rises, was very disappointed with it. Despite the excellent first two films, and realising Nolan's different take on it all, I still think he pretty much treated the Batman character like crap. And the "fight" scenes were appalling, Bats' skills were never really on show enough. As "crime thrillers" they were outstanding movies though, the first film was probably the only real Batman film and Dark Knight was a masterclass, dominated by Heath Ledger's performance.

Agreed - the fight scenes were especially poor with little attempt to conceal obviously fake punches (when Bane breaks Batman), dumb logic (unarmed policeman charging an army of thugs with guns), and just generally poor choreography. Nolan is a great writer and a good director, but I'm not a fan of the way he shoots his action scenes. I struggle to tell what's going on a lot of the time.

I'm looking forward to Zach Snyder's portrayal of Bats in the upcoming Man of Steel sequel.

I thought the fight scenes were mostly poor in all 3 films, very slow and basic too. I thoroughly enjoyed Bruce's "education" though under the League of Shadows. Liam Neeson was great too.

Yep, I do hope Bats' true characteristics will be emphasised in the new film but not getting my hopes up. It's a long way off too...
